| JUNK! 1 $180 craftsman floor jack. Blew hydraulic fluid on my driveway. Got 3 uses out of it. 3 harbor freight jacks. One quit lifting, one had a gritty feel to the release valve so it was hard to lower the car precisely, and one had a bolt head break off on the kickpedal. 1 $115 craftsman torque wrench. Made it almost a year. Plastic handle broke. Numbers disappeared off the display. Not a happy camper. Getting real tired of this TRASH. I want it but Snapon is so expensive! | |

| They replaced the torque wrench. It was 2 weeks away from being out of the 1 year warranty.
The replacement broke after a few uses this morning. Numbers stopped showing in the display.
Took it back, I'm on torque wrench #3. When this one breaks, which I'm sure it will, then it's on to something else like a snapon. Sears has good service for the most part but a lot of their stuff is apparently trash.

| I think its the rubber handle that moves around and will hide the number, and after that happens you dont know where its set. I had the same one, traded my 3/8 and my 1/2 in on the matco digital 1/2 IM very happy with it. | |

| http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00945284000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=That is the one I've got. It's the click type. And when this third one breaks I'm done. Time for another brand. I'm open to trying a metco next. Anything other than craftsman @ this point. I think their basic hand tools are fine but I wouldn't touch their hydraulic stuff or their "precision" instruments like these torque wrenches. | |

| i ride the fence.... i like matco for some stuff... and snap-on for the rest. mac just simply sucks.
i have good luck from craftsman pro tools..... but then again they're made dy daniher (sp?) tools.... which makes hand tools for matco too.
snap on is the only place that really makes there own hand tools.

| Wow dude seriously? This is the THIRD torque wrench from Sears. I've barely used the thing. Already some black piece on the inside is starting to get in the way of the window where you can read the settings. I circled it in red. I'm taking this pile of trash back to Sears on Saturday and asking for store credit or a refund. This is fucking retarded! | |

| gearwrench for wrench's, I have had good luck with colored 3/8 sockets from harbor freight (got them on sale!!!) basically anything that gets the job done...I haven't had anything break yet except some cheap 3/8 extensions...my torque wrench is a husky...used it many times torquing my balancer on my ls1 (over 250lbs. torque) never had a problem! | |

| It was the handle. It isn't maintaining a fixed position. Which kind of defeats the sensitivity of the settings. If it's moving around on you then it's going to be an uphill battle trying to maintain the calibration on the thing.
Junk. | |

| I used to build jet engines, we used craftsman hand tools. The precision stuff (calibrated tools, stretchers, torque wrenches) was either scratch built or snapon, depending. But IMO if the government says they are good enough to work on a 40 million dollar airplane then I think they will work on my honda.(imo) | |

| if you keep it i would put a paint mark on the handle and on the wrench so you can allways set it back to the original position. | |

| That's not a bad idea. I'm kinda torn on what to do next. If I keep the wrench I'll follow that advice and mark the handle. If Sears would take it back and either refund the money or give me store credit - that's worth consideration.
Just don't have a very good feeling about this wrench now. Not after the first one broke and then come to find out the other two including this one have that problem with the handle twisting around and causing that window to get blocked. Cheap design I guess. That's what you'll get for $110.
I should've known better.
