New Camaro... Ok ok, if I HAVE to own it, I'll take this one

next year the ss from the factory will have the lsa (the caddie de-tuned version of the ls9).

Yup. The Z28. The SS will still have the LS3.

the z28 will have the ls3 the ss will have the lsa. the z-28 is just a v-6 modle with a v-8. the ss is the classy one.

The SS already exists. You're confused.

SS = LS3

Z28 = LSA

they are renaming the the levels. Gm doesnt wast to spend money on other camaro's so they are going form the v-6, the z-28 (ls3 powered) to the ss (lsa powered). now they can get rid of the 1ss and the 2ss and haveth ls (base v-6), 1lt (v-6) , 2lt (touring v-6) , z-z8 (the 2lt with a ls3) , and the big daddy SS all (options with a supercharded v-eight). if you look in the history of the camaro the ss is the cream of the crop. why would they put a base engine in the ss, and put the hipo engine in the z-28? its all over ls1tech that the z-28 will have the ls3 and the ss will have the lsa.

i don't know why GM does anything. I do know the supercharged Camaro will be badged Z28 as of this month's Car & Driver. Do you have any info you can post up regarding a complete renaming of the levels?


There is a plethora of information regarding the Z28 being Supercharged. I can't find any info regarding a renaming of all the levels.

hopped onto ls1 tech, all the threads are shut down on the z/28 and all of the 2011 camaros. makes me wonder what gm is up to..... Edmunds is calling it the Z28 / SS, okay im just adding to this post from what i get. Robin says thatone modle of the 2012 camaro will have a lsa in it. he said he can not divuldge what it will be called. he also said that there are a few proto types running around.

Either ZL1 or Z28 but the gen public has no idea about a ZL1 so I don't see what else they can call it unless they just come up with a brand new moniker.

A lot of arguing about the name at some of the camaro forums.

i dont really care what it is called, but i want one.
