what broken wheel ?.....

Ok, well, The night of Joshs' funeral, i was driving around with some people at about 11pm-ish and I had just left the albertsons lot on the good ol' 24. I was following Mark in his 06 wrx and we were heading toward king. Mark went through the intersection and flipped a uturn in front of old chicago. He was going pretty fast and looked like he was trying to lose me cause he knows I can not keep up. I thought in my head "Mark thinks he is soooooooo cool in that stupid wrx, I am gonna stay right on his tail!" Obviously I had temporarily gone insane. Nevertheless, I slowed down to about 20 to 25 and jerked the wheel to uturn in the same place he did. WRONG.
I, being front wheels drive, caught the little bit of gravel between the lanes and went straight instead.... BANG! It sounded like a bomb went off under my hood. I was on the sidewalk, facing the opposite direction on 24th. I didnt do anything but put it in reverse and head around the turn into the costco parking lot. I didnt want to get out, but I did. Yep, I broke my wheel. Most likely other stuff too! Moral of the story is.....Know the limits of your car, dont forget what you are driving, take your own advice, and shop at costco because they have quality items at a lesser price. Pic time:






I ordered a new one and fixed her up. Side note: I most likely need to replace my caliper, rotor, endlink, bearing, and swaybar too Good time to upgrade though

Ouch and Ouch! The amazing thing and correct me If i'm wrong, Dougies subaru drove home like that.

That is very true, he drove for about 8 blocks on that bad boy. Cannot believe the car pulled it off. Subarus are amazing.

I don't think an aftermarket wheel making it 8 blocks in 12 pieces can be added to a "subaru is amazing" tally.....

Pretty sure that if the car would not have been AWD it would not have made it.

Damn... this thread reminds me of my 2 busted up stock wheels I got. One when one of the "fins" cracked all around after an ice storm tossed me into a curb and two when I went wheel to fire hydrant last winter... ugh wheels are expensive lol.

Guess this is a good reason why everyone should buy forged wheels! Although even a forged wheel would have bent like crazy at least it wouldn't break.

Ha, only reason I even have aftermarket wheels is cause I slid on some ice years ago into a huge 90* curb and busted both on one side in half! It was TONS cheaper to just get the whole new set of rims/tires than to replace with new OEM's

plus, if you havent noticed, I drive an escort. While its possible that it could be, its not even close to worthy of spending that much for forged wheels, and probably never will be. I eventually want to build a lifer car but for now, I pride myself on what I can do with so little...

I guess i didnt do it up as much as dougie freshness, but it still sucked for sure.

Shawn, I used 4 of the new MAEC decals that xpoisonxfreex made, they are made from the same reflective blue on the side of police cars. Courtesy of Don at autotrim. It was a random idea and I just went for it. We always joke that the 406 customs motto is " Dont even think about it, just do it!" hahaha

Well it turned out great Nate and I can't wait to see them in person!
