| used to be all about it, but the autoX thing has caught my attention and uses up way less of my money to be competative!! But there have been recent developements in the path of the teal beast. so maybe next spring my love for the strip will be reignited. | |

I have found that I enjoy scca and hope to do some more of it next year but the 1320 is my Favorite...

i love all forms of racing ,but drag racing is a passion i just cant get enough of As die hard as you are Sam? I can't claim that, but you know that I'll make my fair share of passes down the 1/4. Think I have about 120 passes on the 'Busa between last season and the 4 or so races this season. For cars, I haven't given up on the Buick, I think she'll get some love this winter. I might have a lead on a well built LSX that will need a new home soon. That with some lower compression pistons and 106mm or so of turbo might get me in the hunt for the quickest street car . I'd have to come into some money or do some serious shuffling of resources to make it all happen by next year but ya never know (come on lotto numbers!!!). Likely though, I'll continue my assult on the 9s next season with the Busa (thinking she has some 9.5s in her now).

| Definitely not a hardcore racer.
I may not even race my car next season @ all because I need to pay off my supercharger before I go doing things that might blow up the engine.
If I were die hard? I'd be out there regardless.

| Yea I know all about the bugeting thing. That is why I'm getting rid of my stroker, kit just don't have the money to finish one motor llet alone two. Got to love the spray that is for sure. When you do build it make sure to look into giving extra piston to wall clearence and extra ring end gap. I did alot of research when I was building my motor for nitrous there is alot of little tricks you can do to get the nitrous to run the best on the motor with out hurting anything. I'm hoping to get up to a 200 or 250 shot on my little 302. Hopfully it stays together and doesn't | |

| yeah i hear ya , make sure u got a good main girdle with that much spray , pretty much eliminates any main cap walk ,
i get alot of people sayin nos is desrtuctive , but ive just passsed over 100 nos runs on mine stock shortblock , and over 450 runs on the motor , and thats stock crank rods and pistons , over 4 years worth of abuse and she is still goin, rings are goin out or she would be fine , stock rings to, was to broke to replace them
but with a proper tune nos is a great tool to make a lil motor get up a move quite nicely
i think for the lil amount of money un my combo she ran pretty dam good , best motor pass of 12.70 best nos pass of 11.20
cant bitch about that | |

| ha you guys suck. boost plus NO2. nitrous isnt bad like you said sam. it really depends on the tune. it seems as if to many people just want to go fast and dont care how they do it and the seem to get them into trouble. i personally havent ran anything bigger than a 75 shot and so far ive been lucky. i thought for sure that i was going to hurt my motor running boost plus NO2 but i held together. i only ran a 65 shot on 13 psi with 105 fuel and had no problems. but that was also on a stock motor with a fat tune. | |

sorry sammy i miss worded it. i was siding with you. its not bad but it can be bad without taking the proper steps to run it. but it really just depends on how much NO2 your running.

| I love how people here your running nitous and say your going to destory you motor I find that so funny. I've ran it on the same motor for more than six years. Nothing specail just a rerung short block with girdle and stock ported heads with a 175 shot on top of that. Started with 100 shot and that lasted about all of on run. I ran it once at the track in lewistown and went a best of 12.20 running out of juice just past the 1/8 mile that sucked. I think it would have been into the 11"s on that run. When I ripped it apart to rebuild I was surprized to find it looked great, no hot spots on the pistons, the bearings looked good. All I had to do to the crank was get i polished and it was good to go again. This with 200 to 250 bottle ran on it. Thank god for home refill stations. I also find funny is how people say that nitrous is cheating.I got in to a fight with this guy at a car show about this very subject. His exact words were " Nitrous will kill any motor no matter how it is build and it is cheating. If you need it to beat me you must not have a very well built motor." Yes this guy is first on my shit to smoke list when my car is done.He is your average dumbass. Then I saw him a little later BSing some guy Saying he would love to get a turbo and run it. So I ask him in a smart ass way, your motor must not be very well built if you need a turbo right. Of course I had some beer in me I would usaully laugh and walk away but I couldn't help my self. Then he started yelling about how running superchargers and turbos are very different and more respected than running nitrous. I had just one more question for him after his melt down "Ok you can bolt on power with all of this very easy, right. They basiclly do the samething add more O2 to the engine just in different ways, right. Then if nitrous is cheat why isn't turbos or supercharging?" This guy's head about exploded and started yelling agian I just walk away because I was out of beer. Shawnns I would love to run nitrous and a supercharger that would be a kick in the ass for sure. But I think that is double cheating or does it even out because nitrous is cheating and supercharging isn't. I'm confussed I need a nap now. | |

| Wish I would have had the "this weeks car" ready to run but the tune was funny till a few days ago. Finally have it running good, but no where to run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxVu1LB8NekThis was one hand recording and trying to steer and shift with the other, good times. So bummed I didn't hit the strip once this year. Last few years always had bikes and it was a ton of fun. | |

It doesn't affect me, I just add boost to compensate with a push of a button! I love turbos! I ran the same MPH in Denver@8900ft as I did here. I hope I get it done in time.
