It's an 88 LX 5.0 auto. I need a front bumper cover and drivers side fender too. I found a hood already. How did you like the E303?

It's an 88 LX 5.0 auto. I need a front bumper cover and drivers side fender too. I found a hood already. How did you like the E303? The E303 worked pretty good, I ran a set of 1.7 bolt down crane roller rockers with it to get more lift. The 1.7 took it to .528 lift from a .498. There are better cams out there but I was running the stock pistons and was limited on lift size. From 87 to 92 mustang 5.0 have forged pistons in them already and that is why I didn't change them at the time. I don't know if you know much about the EFI in this year Mustang so I'm not triying to sound like a know it all but you will have to convert to mass air on yours if not already done. There are many differnt ways to do that and the thing you will need is a A9L or a A9P computer the L is for a manual and the P is for a auto and usaul easier to find. you can allso change this in the computer tune. Now you can find the mass air wire inputs at the computer pretty easy and run your own wire to a mass air sensor. You can buy the mass air sensor macthed to injectors (it works but isn't ideal, I ran like this for a while and had drivablity problems at low rpm) or if you are going to be tuning it I would get a tweeker or quarterhouse from moates you can make your own tube and run a newer 2005 mustang stock mass air sensor. That is what I am going to run and AJ ran on on his setup too. AJ put together a quick tune from the tweeker for my old setup and it drove like it was factory, but ran like a raped ape. You might already know this stuff but I thought I would throw it out there if you didn't. If you need any help or any questions on these kind of cars just post it and I am sure one of the fox guys will pipe up. I know a little on the tuning but AJ is the brains of my opperation for sure. Just wait until you see his new setup. Heres is a pic of the mass air tube we made for AJ's car to show you what I mean.

No. Right now I am running a mail order tune on a moats j3 chip and am running an fmu and wideband to add fuel to fine tune. Kind of a band-aid setup but there were not a lot of tuning options in Coeur d'alene. But I am thinking about getting the megasquirt setup. There are several other options I am looking at as well, but none of them are gona happen till my car is done(which may never happen). Honestly though, I think I will just do a sct chip and have Brett tune me.

| there is a ton more involved in tuning a carb. it actually takes more time to tune a carb than efi. you have vetures, jets, metering rods, a pleatera of carbs to choose from, vacuum vs mechanical secondarys and of course your timing and many other items that play a factor. along with timing you have to either dial in springs and weights (hei) or your msd (might suddenly die) box or mallory. the bad thing about a carb vs efi the carb cant sense a weather or temp change where efi can. Efi is much superior and more consistant. ill use jason gto as a test mule here. we had a 122 ci maggie on it, made well over 500 rwhp, and under normal driving intown he was getting 22-25 mpg in town. it had 3.46 gears, coverter locking at 45mph and over 4200lbs with driver. id like to see a carb do that intown.
but to each his own, i myself would stay with a speed density. they seam to be a bit more responsive than a maf set up which can be laggy. mega squirt makes some good stuff, but i would almost bet with bretts tuning expeariance that his stock ecm will suffice for his goals.

| oh geez .. i was messing around lol . for drivability in extreme conbonations i agree, but a carb is still simpler . and your right it cant sense weather changes , but u dont need a bunch of computer skills to tune your car , u literally need just what i said , and u can make um run pretty decent
ive seen alot of guys constantly talkin about gettin there car tuned , especially the import guys seem to have a difficult time , u hear about it constantly , when u live in a place like this with limited options , it makes tuning efi difficult ,
and it doesnt take more time chris to tune a carb , it is just different than efi

| well, i have done both, carbs still serve a purpose, and i like the qudra toilet. i actually learned on the qudra jet. very complex compared to a carter afb (aka edlebrock). i will say that if i didnt under stand how a carb worked i would not have picked up tuning as easyily. | |

| yeah ive tuned quadra pukes , as i was taught to call them , had a few love the sound of there secondaries opening up , im a died in the wool holley fan , holley type carbs, especially the new proforms , quickfuels , and hp holleys are a joy to work with ... never a fan of the edlebrock. take a quad over them anyday | |

Like I said before I ran a stock lower end and stock heads with a 150 shot for five years and I wasn't the easiest on the motor. The nice thing is that the 5.0 has TRW forged pistons stock. I'd be more worried about the stock AOD in the car The motor is just fine for something like 150 shot. Getting into the 12.8 zone should be fairlly easy to do with nitrous and a couple of other little things.

| Didn't piss me off, I just think its funny when someone says nitrous people instantly think it will destrory a motor.Tuned in right and with all the safty stuff it is just as safe as a blower or turbo, maybe even safer.
