| tps could be reading low volt causing the ecu to think it's over boosting. but it is hard to tell from the lack of info. 1. does the car still run normal at wot? 2. does it hicup when you start to excel.? 3. is there a wide-band on board? 4. anything done to the stock ecu? 5. if there is a boost controller set at 100% w/ stock fuel enrichment then theres your problem tell us more info.!!! | |

| I would just say walk away from the deal... way to many unknowns! Do they have reciepts for all the parts on the car so you know what is installed? What is the car tuned with... is the car tuned?
I would assume the car is reading knock and puttin the car into limp (safe) mode... trying to save the engine. Seeing 2 boost controllers should be your first indicator that the person building the car originally was "not the smartest". I ran 21lbs of boost on my evo all day long and all it required was one boost controller!
Just a tip if he insist on buying it or is already to far into the process... Unistall one boost controller so you only have one variable, then "close" the other boost controller down. This should get you as low of boost as possiable. (hopefully he has a boost gauge). See if the car runs better with low boost.

| If this is my Buddy James, it's the evo 9 with the MIVEC 4G63 correct I was talking to him about that last night If he doesn't know much about tunes or know anyone that can tune a turboed MIVEC then I'd walk away too I ws looking everywhere and I was seeing everywhere that it's complicated to tune them | |

I wouldn't want all the unknowns. A car that doesn't run right at a dealership just screams "I got tired of my screwed up project so I traded it off to a dealership"

| It could be something very simple, but knowing its running the way it is should be a warning that its probably been abused. That being said it wouldn't hurt to have someone look at it. It could be something simple like the wastegate line popped off or melted.
You sure it has two boost controllers and not a boost controller and the factory boost solenoid? If he is dead set on buying it I can take a look at it real quick and see what I think.
TPS can cause hesitation and bucking but won't throw an overboost code. That code means either the voltage from airflow is too high or the load is outside what the ECU is tuned for. If the Turbo is flowing too much air either from a boost control problem (wastegate line, faulty boost controller, boost control set too high, too large of a turbo on stock ECU, ETC) then that code will pop up, depending on the setup that should have helped avoid blowing the motor up by retarding the timing but that may only be the start of the issues. Too many variable to say on-line without really seeing it. Best advice would be as everyone else said start fresh and build it right from the start.

little bro's cummins had tps issues causing a mil to display overboost condition. replaced the tps fix the cel for overboost. then again that was troy's problem more the likely not yours

| In my opinion I would flash the stock map back on to the car, and then if that fails, check the vacuum lines. 9 times out of 10 it is the most obvious problem. | |
