it pretty much is a ZC head. for the sake of discussion concerning a OBD1 conversion it is basically a ZC.You should research and learn about the D16A1 engine you have in your own car. http://www.thezcr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24224&highlight=d16a1+headhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine It is basically a U.S. ZC but used in a 86-89 Integra which in the mindset of getting parts.... at least the parts guys can look up parts for you with it instead of like with a ZC where you have to know what parts cross over to applications that were used in the U.S. Your engine if I remember correctly should have the more aggressive ZC cams in it along with the better flowing ZC intake also. I can't remember what all Ben did to it exactly. I do know it is like the first of its kind that has been built that tough here in Billings. You really need to research what you have and make informed decisions on what you do with it instead of going off of hearsay. Just my two cents.

| if you are really serious about tuning the car to it's full potential OBD1 is nice.
You can still do a great job with OBD0 ....... it just takes longer and less people know how to do it... or have the patience for it. OBD1 is easier to tune. More user friendly.
If you have to buy a Dizzy anyways.... you might as well go with a OBD1 and treat it like a D16A6 as far as tuning goes. You'll still want a ECU you can program however.... that is limited to your budget.
Of course Converting it back to stock will ...... work good. Too bad it has like 8.5:1 compression though.

| Is there anyone that will admit that they are a "tuner"? Probably not... the risk is too high for most people around here to admit to anything in case something goes wrong and then they get blamed for being stupid and destroying someones engine. Noone around here is really a "professional tuner"..... there a good handful around here that do it for a hobby on their off time... if they have time. But generally most people around here have learned by experiance since there was noone to do it.... and fewer have taken any schooling on it... although there are a few. But no real dyno that can easily be used whenever needed during "off time tuning" ...typically in the evening when people are off work. A guy can get pretty close if he has a wideband, EGT, and a g-meter. But it just takes tons of time since noone does it for a living around here. Noone that actually knows what they are doing will probably volenteer to tune.... because for one... they only want to tune for the fun of it.... and if they are tuning someone elses car... what they should charge for the service is usually too much for people to not freak out and say "I'll go blow my car up on my own thanks".... And since they are charging... then people expect a garantee.... which there is no garantee for tuning... And so it turns into a crap shoot. Best thing is to get a reference and find out what they have actually done and proove they have done before they touch your car. other wise.... try to learn on your own... plenty of info out there.... if you really want to learn, you will.
There are a few people that have told all us on here how good they are at tuning and they are self proclaimed pro's and all...... but I have yet to see any of their successfull work to be able to give comment on there work. And there is another one that apparently really knows what he is doing but noone will tell you who he is... they will just tell you all of what he has done.... but never tell you who he is because he is picky in what he touches and has the right to be..... if he chooses he'll chime in. But he won't touch your car unless everything is perfect and actually ready to tune... which is pretty much how any real tuner is going to be too.
So.... in essence..... I can't really answer you're question.
And a final note.... if funding a OBD1 conversion is a concern for you..... then you don't have the funds to find someone to tune your car.
Get some funding put together...... money talks.... not dreams. just stating truth bro.

| rianna has all the stuff to put maps on obd0 with bree (bri, bry... idfk) but you would still need to find all the stuff and solder it in. OR... you could buy this ecu from me, find a dizzy and be done. 75 bucks and a pickup and she belongs to you. | |
