| both my car and my brothers were broken into last night between 11pm and 630 this morning. Broke my door handle and the lock is all stripped out. Same with my brothers. I'm not positive if anything is missing yet, apart from my radar detector and some cds, that didn't have cases. They were actually all burned cds. Not sure if they got anything from dans car either. I'm just more annoyed that if someone doesn't lock my door, my car gets broken into. If I lock my door, my car gets broken into... Parked in the driveway, street light in front of our house? Who knows. | |

| Theft is one of the reasons I refuse to park cars overnight on a street. Hit and runs and vandalism being the others. I've had both of the latter happen where I live over in the area of 14th and C.
Sorry to hear about this. Happens far to often unfortunately. You just can't have nice things any more.

| wow sorry to hear bud. that sucks. thats the down fall to not having a garage. i have had my fare share of vehicles broken into. anymore i just leave my door unlocked on my DD. im so sick of replacing windows every time they get broken out just so they can steal something. i replaced 3 drivers windows in my CRX cause it got broken into all the time. in fact i left my integra door unlocked a few months back and i came out the next day and somebody had went through the car throwing stuff everywhere. but didn't take anything. thats cause i dont leave anything of value in the car what so ever. if they want the crappy CD player they can have it. other than that theres nothing it the car. | |

Sorry to hear about this. Happens far to often unfortunately. You just can't have nice things any more. I hear ya. The thing is, all 3 cars parked against the sidewalk were untouched. And 3 of the 4 cars in the driveway were messed with. I'm not angry, no reason to be angry, but I am a little perturbed in knowing that my books were international editions, and my backpacks weren't super nice either, meaning that they stole my stuff, and will literally be throwing it away...

| Also, what do I do about the keyhole? I need MY key to drive my car because it is chipped, so do I just get a new lock and have it keyed to my key? How does that work? I'd rather not carry a million keys that each work for something different on the car | |

The dealer might be able to get another lock made for that key. Otherwise they'll have a kit with keys, door and trunk locks, and ignition. Pain in the dick, it is. Might see if a locksmith can rekey a lock if you got one off ebay or the JY. Sucks major ass dude. Will insurance help at all?

| My deductible is more than it will cost, unless I claim EVERTHING (cracked dash, broken handle, all new key locks). Our homeowners insurance said they will probably be able to cover everything that was stolen though, so I should be able to recoup the costs of my books and backpacks at least | |

| Update - more stuff is missing than I thought I figured that since the seats were still in the civic, that nothing was taken from it(they weren't bolted down and are nice seats) turns out, we realized a ton of stuff is missing when we were working on it today Left headlight and turn signal, set of stock taillights, 5 point race harness, set of side mirrors, gauge cluster, 2 tachs, hood pins, and integra headlights... | |

| The thing is, most of that stuff was just in a box, so I think they just grabbed the box and bolted. The brand new seats weren't even bolted into the car, it took me a solid 8 seconds to pull each out of the car and another 10 to walk them to the garage | |

| Stuff like this makes me wanna break someones face in with a crow-bar theft has gotten soo rediculous in billings. I had my car parked in the middle of the fucken target parking lot with street lights and cameras and there was even a cop sittin in office depot when it happened (you could even see the cop car in one of the video feeds) and some punk ass kids rolled up parked beside me pulled the window out and proceeded to steal absolutely everything in the car.... clothes, cds, radar detector, speakers, subs, amp, cap, deck, the even stole all the paper work out of the glove box. They completely destroyed everything they touched cus of the way i mount everything the only thing they may have actually gotten that was worth money and not busted gettin out is a set of pioneer subs i paid 20 bucks for the pair of. in the end the insurance company figure between damage and theft they would have to total my car... well over 2500 bucks. I had them on camera and the cops didnt even catch them. How ballsy is that! That really grinds my gears! Ok thats my rant but ill be on full look out for the missing merchandise and imk sorry for ur loss... if i ever see something like that happening im gonna try to stop it no matter if i know the persons car or not and id hope anyone reading this would do the same. | |

| Yeah, I wish I had a picture of the backpack. It is ridiculously unique. I can't wait to see someone wearing it. I just hope the people try to sell the stuff, and not just realize that most of it is unusable and toss it all | |

| I feel for ya, man. This shit is enraging, not to mention the cops don't do shit about it. I mean I understand they've got bigger fish to fry sometimes, but they'll have a much bigger mess on their hands when I track down one of these pricks and curb stomp 'em. | |
