| Heard a rumor that there is not going to be a race season this coming year. I guess the owner pulled the 4 year lease and she is now just selling it outright for 1.3MIL? This is not a fact as of yet.
If someone has more light to shine on this I would appreciate it.

| Interesting if true.
Could be a good thing if the new owners fix the road and put some money and effort into the place.

| I'd be so pissed if we didn't have the strip this year!! Just when I get the car boosted and plan on having it tuned by drag season...... I pray the rumor is false. | |

| Just more time for you to keep modding the car and make it even faster. I'm not gonna race mine again until I get the stuff I plan on buying this summer installed. As far as good air goes you only get two days out of the year for it up there. On opening day and on the last day of the season. Otherwise it's a constant 4500' or worse DA. | |

| idk if thats true.. i talked to the guy who rents the track pretty regularly... he and my boss are always talking in the back of my work.. hes told me hes going to be adding a street tire class for all E.t. style racing and also adding more friday night street legals.. unless things have changed very recently, we should have nothing to worry about | |

| Even last year they took forever to get that site set up and get all the links working. It'll be "under construction" until as Nova says the track is bought or someone finds the time to change the site. | |

| Just checked again and no site.
I am kind of worried nothing is going to happen 'til the last minute like last year. Season was kind of compromised because of the late lease agreement. Hopefully someone jumps on the horse soon.

| Yep no update. I'm also concerned. I didn't plan on running my car more than once or twice out there but it'll be disappointing if I can't even do that. I was hoping to see some improvements from a few bolt ons I'm getting and the easiest way to measure the impact would've been to check the trap speed. Can't do that without a race track. | |

| Hmmm, suck... I wonder why she pulled the lease? Anyway, we'll see what happens, there are a lot of well-heeled people that race out there. I'm kinda suprised that Menholts didn't make a play for buying it last year. Someone will either pick it up or she'll lease it again. I can't imagine that she would want it to just sit and deteriorate when she could be making 'some' money on it. | |

| Molly Omo doesn't want to lease it anymore, she yanked the lease out and wants to sell it for 2.2M, so Gordy moved on. Hopefully somebody steps up soon | |

Now I've heard 3 different numbers floating around, 1.3mil 1.1mil and 2.2mil. I'm pretty sure that there will be racing out there one way or another, but as time goes on I'm worried that it will be a poorly planned year like this past year was. Again, I say... sucks...

| Sadly I have to agree with Tom. Regardless if someone ends up buying the track there will probably be little to no track days. I guess Lewistown is going to be our only option unless we want to travel to another state. | |

| This sucks. I don't want to go to bandimere or douglas since the elevation is as bad or worse. I've heard lewistown is a shitty 1/4 mile track.
There is one in spokane and also south dakota but those are both long drives.

| Track > Street
Easier to launch the car, it's a longer race, and you get a time slip showing all the data from each attempt. Not to mention no worries about tickets and the chance of a wreck is significantly less.

| somewhat yes, but not really. same situation as the track, except you don't pay to race the street, a quarter mile is still a quarter mile dont matter if you are on mars, or in houstan texas. and getting a car to hook on the streets is no more difficult than it is on the track. you just need to set your shit up the right way. and prep work is essential. | |

| They usually don't lay down compound on the street for you. And there usually isn't rubber on the street like there is on the track. It's an all around superior environment to race in. Much more controlled, safe, and you get a slip that breaks things down for you when it's all over. Anything can happen on the street. At the track things are broken down with the timeslip so you can really see what was going on. Honestly man if I told most people that it's just as easy to get traction on the street they'd probably look at me like I really was from mars. I don't know of to many people that race a full 1/4 mile from a dig on the streets. I guess maybe on the outskirts of town like on the road to roundup. But in town you're a fuckin moron going 100+ on broadwater or grand. IMO anyway. | |

IMO anyway. racing on 24th is stupid, and very dangerous, and i do not condone that at all. and the hooking on the streets vs the track is simple. the track is prepped exactly how the streetracers prep. do a burny, spray pj-1/vht/pimpjuice/ whatever, do a burny again, spray again, and voila, instant sticky ass launch pad.

| People actually get away with all that and don't get busted around here?
I can't usually drive from one end of this town to the other without seeing a cop. Maybe I'm just unlucky? lol
Point taken I suppose. I do think it's going to be tough to find a stretch of road as smooth and flat as a drag strip here in town. But as far as the prep goes I see your point. It could be done.

| Do tell. Where?
Friend of mine is trailering his car all the way to Spokane this year if the track doesn't open up.
Say it doesn't. How badly do you guys think it will deteriorate over a year? Will that be enough time for it to start falling apart?

| it's on the west end. needed to know basis guy, will tell more later after it's ready for a couple runs ya know. i want to go race in boise this summer once, maybe portland or seattle too. vegas for sure, but i drive my shit, i don't own a trailer, let alone a truck to pull it with. i think a year down the road, concrete unkept and asphault un kept will show signs of cracking and weeds popping up all over. lewistown looks worse every year, but it still gets raced on. | |

| What would be nice is if someone actually built a race track in Billings. Say near lockwood. Some place closer and with better access. It would probably stand a chance at making more money that way.
I've considered driving all the way to Spokane or even Pierre SD. I just don't know about it. If something breaks that would suck so far from home. Being NA and less than 300whp the chances are it would be fine. But you never know.

| i know what you mean, if the track was south of I-90, but still visible from the road, that place would be packed every weekend. it was built way the fuck out there, because gordon clark donated the land for it. | |
