I am getting out of the game.....'89 240sx w/ sr20det and Cage

I have just come to that point in life where I have too many other stakes in the fire and I need to cut somethings loose so I can focus on others. I really have enjoyed the car and enjoyed all of the experience of building a car from scratch but it must go.

STORY BEHIND THE CAR:
Bought the car with the intentions of building an all out drift/scca car. So with that being said my intentions with this car were not to Daily drive it, so I would not recommend you trying it either. The car has no heat or AC. The car also currently has no sunroof at all so there is a whole in the roof (the carbon fiber plug is $200 from Kognition designs). I have stripped the car of all unecessary wiring so currently it has blinkers and brakelights but no headlights. I have the wiring to build my own headlight harness but it is not complete (simple three wire job, might be done before it sells). I understand these cars and how they work so I built it to handle abuse and be as headache free as possiable. I enjoy driving more than I do working on cars. So this is not someones hack job car that will not run and needs troubleshooting. Hopefully I have clearly stated what needs to be finished on the car or I will explain it all to you in person if I forgot something. What the car need to be ready for some real fun.... coilovers and wheels/tires. If the car doesn't sell it will be getting parted out.

ya I will just keep working on it and making finishing up all the little things here and there. I am doubting someone is just going jump on this since it is more of a track oriented car. So I will just enjoy it while I have it and when/if it goes then I will be done for a bit.

how long is "for a bit"? are you trying to get into something that is a little less of a project? I think a supercharged ford festiva! or a chevy minivan with a blown 454 swapped in!!! LMK if I can help with anything!

Planning to go to Lewistown with the car, so unless you really twist my arm I am not selling the car until after that for sure. But the more I work with the car the more and more I think this thread may just become a waste of space and I will keep the car.

^^^ Nate this is the car I still have and drive (currently chasing down a vacuum leak). So yes it is sorta for sale. I am not motivated to sale at all, but if the right offer comes along (i.e. someone wants to give me my asking price I would probably let it go).

Make sure you do not sell it till after Lewistown.

here I am again at a cross road! Since I posted the fors sale thread I spent all my time getting the car all ready for Lewistown, then the day before the event the turbo seized up on me and died! So now I need to put a new turbo on the car and so I am wondering if I should just punt!

So is anyone intersted in the car.... with a blown turbo.

NEW PRICE: $3,000 THIS IS WITH A BLOWN TURBO AND I AM TAKING THE EXHAUST OFF. EXHAUST COULD BE HAD FOR AN ADDITIONAL $300.

For this price you are getting basically a free chassis and the engine installed. You would need to swap a new turbo on ($100 - $1200 just depends on what you get).

Or new 2871, 740cc injectors and a flashed ECU and have 350hp, then add cams and have 400. Sounds like a cheap way to get a fast car. If I had the third car garage I'd pick it up.

Or just put a disco potato on it and run 14psi and have a sweet car to SCCA and drift. So many options, if someone buys it I'd be happy to give them some pointers to get it to whatever goals they have for it.

gt2871r would straight murder in the s13. Jake i wish i had the $$$ i'm CRAZY about this whip. btw can you bottom mount the 2871on the sr with that manifold?

yep, if I had the cash I could just throw the 2871r on and get wild.... I did just buy a stock t25 off ebay, so it will be running again as soon as the turbo shows up. The guy promises no shaft play, so I hope he ain't lying or I will just have to drive to MA and smack a bitch.

as you can see, I relist the car for sale and buy a new turbo the same day... so I definatly have a love hate relationship going on! If the car sold it would most likely result in cash in the bank, or I have my eye on a new bow and a 4-wheeler!

As for hitting up lewistown, I doubt i will make it to the september meet. That will be 7 days before I head to Wyoming for my backcountry elk hunt. I would imagine for financial reasons and for my marriages sake, I will be hangin out at home that weekend... but who knows, that is a long way out. I hate when my two favorite hobbies overlap!

That last sentence is definitelhy understandable - give it another 3 months and the only thing on my mind will be hunting season and getting ready for it. Which usually means too much money spent on stuff I probably don't need, but it makes life easier chasing game around. Damnit, now I want to go hunting. I think weather permitting I'm gonna see if I can't call in a couple 'yotes this saturday and play with the AR.
