| I am looking at nitrous systems (wet kit)...the 2 kits I'm comparing right now are the zex kit and a kit made by Harris speed works. here's the website http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/product.php?productid=338&cat=117&page=1 I already talked to a friend about it and he recommended the zex kit because of their known reliability. The thing is the harris kit is way cheaper (350) compared to the zex kit (650) and the harris kit comes with the pressure gauge and the zex kit don't...any info will be appreciated! (obviously my main focus is the price here, but I want it to be quality too!) | |

| I'm gonna have to agree with Shawn. The plate kits are gonna be a lot better in the long run. I think you'd be happier also. The one thing these kits don't include that I would make sure and get is an RPM window switch. You don't want to bounch off the rev limiter or something while you're spraying. I good, well setup kit is gonna cost close to $1k. I wouldn't skimp much since this is going to be your main "power adder".
You need to get on LS1tech.com and search their classifieds. I just looked and there are several complete kits for really good prices.

I have the electric throttle body on my car...I know the zex system goes off of tps voltage... here is the window controller http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/product.php?productid=1 let me know what you think...

| a simple single nozzle kit for your vette is the easiest way to get it done. but in my opinion, the zex systems are the best. | |

........my only thing is I am trying to justify the price difference...then again I am installing this in a 20,000 car...I don't want garbage...if you zex is one of the best and most reliable...I should probably get it...not to mention I have the drive by wire electric throttle body and the zex kit would work great for that.

| If you get an rpm window switch, which i feel like is the best option, it comes on with the rpms and goes off with the rpms. | |

so then you wouldn't need the wot switch??? I will definitely have a window switch for sure. I didn't know they took place of the wot switch...

| negative. if you wish to set it to come on at say 3500rpm and go off at 6500rpm, thats what itll do. but you do need a deadman switch, which arms the rpm switch. that way you can run around without it coming on at 3500. | |

| Josh is correct. The window switch if just an added measure to not blow your motor, plus you can fine-tune it to your driving at the track and make your nitrous go further. | |

| I would recommend the ZEX kit. That is the kit I was actually going to get for my car, but I think nitrous may be overkill for my car. Maybe once it is tuned and I top it out at the track. | |

| well, from my experiences with the bottle, shouldnt be an issue, not to mention, the ls-1 base electonics will step in and adjust overall timing to keep it outta knock when the smack is applied... not to mention, a 100 shot isnt exactly in dire need of pulling mass quantities of timing. the couple guys ive spoke with on line that have used 100 shots on vettes, dont even take any timing out until they run a 150 or more. | |

| I would put a FJO controller for the window swicth, and the TPS wide open throttle signal. It also has a first gear lock out, progresive control and other shit for later upgrades like 2 stages. It only runs about 200 bucks. http://www.fjoracing.com/products/2stageminicontroller/I have played with them before and they work pretty slick. Just plug it into a lap top to change windows and progresive settings. Set the wide open throttle is easy to do too. For the money I would also look into a plate system. I've used them both and if he's anything like me he will stay at a 100 shot for a short period of time. My 100 shot was in for about 1 hour and changed to a 150 shot and them I was maxed with the nozzle kit. Then spent more money on a plate so I could go with a 200 shot. Should have just got the plate kit in the first place and saved some money. You live and learn I guess. Nitrous Outlet has a kit that is about 50 bucks more than the zex and has the capablity of going up to 400 HP. I just like running the plate kits myself to have the abilty to run a bigger shot later. http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog/categories.asp?category=14§ion=37 | |

If it was me, and I knew I was gonna spend around $1100, I would call the Nitrous Outlet and tell them what you want to do and tell them your budget. They will set you up with the absolute best kit possible. No guessing about it. I dealt with them when I first got my GTO. I actually bought a nitrous kit and after I got it decided to get the Stroker instead. They are as straight shooting as anyone when it comes to recommendations. Plus that's what they do for a living.
