I can't believe that nobody has done this yet. Well, okay then.
I just like a place to throw a few photos once in a while and get some new ideas and inspiration from you guys.
Here are a couple from Bonneville last year to start off with.

hey todd, i didnt see an answer from anyone else on the thread yet so knowing what little i do about photography and cameras i can tell you that my mom is a photographer and has been for a long time. she usually has a show in a gallery down town every time there is an art-walk or Christmas stroll or what ever. and she swears by nikon. she has a really nice d80 digital she uses for her color shots and an old school 35 mm that she use for black and white and even a simple digital point and shoot style camera she keeps in her purse and they are all nikon. even my little camera is a nikon. i guess it depends on how much you want to spend. i know they can be spendy but nikon is route that i would go. some of the lower end d series (which are awesome) might not be quite as expensive.

Canon and Nikon are the best choices if you're looking into getting a DSLR. The big deal with a DSLR is usually the cost of the glass (lenses). We can talk more about it when I get home if you would like.

This is a 24X zoom photo from across the yard. Not too bad for a $300 camera.

As you know, I am a Nikon (D300 etc) guy also. Of the 13(digital and film) that I own 6 are Nikon. Anymore prices of good glass between nikon and canon are similar. Metal body or metal lenses are the higher end product. In my experience with cameras, you get what you pay for... to a point. with nikon make sure you get a body that has the focus motor built in, other wise you are limited on the lens choices. I like canon also, but I already had too much in Nikon glass, so I sold my EOS 1, no more canon...bye bye. IMO, check out the mid range Nikons or evena used D200, (ebay $400-500).

I really need to learn how to use my camera. I bought a Canon XTI last fall and know nothing other than what I've played around with, which is pretty much nothing. I can push the button and take pics. I need someone to show me how to use it so I can take it hunting with me and get some good wildlife photos.

That is such a sweet picture. I was actually driving home on Friday morning and was heading East on the interstate and I could see the snow falling just in a 1 mile area about 15 miles out and it had the most amazing look to it. Of course I didnt have the camera.

Damn, that is a sweet lens. I like how sharp the car is.

I hate you.

Awesome thread revival Frank!!! I'll add one of our engagement photos to this. This arrangement was my idea but the photographer didn't quite focus the way I had imagined. I originally wanted her to focus more on the fact that the rings are sitting on my hood and I wanted to be able to see the matching texture of the carbon fiber ring. Maybe you can bring that special lens of yours to Lewistown and take a wack at it Franklin Smile
