| haha no not really.
I just put on new rotor disks and ceramic pads on my 07 civic.
The front right brake pads aren't contacting or surfacing on the rotors. They still look brand new. Even after I mashed on the brakes at 90mph today.
All the other rotors look broken in good. Brought it to the Honda Dealer. They're stomped.
Anyone experience a faulty Caliper or piston before? Same problem?
Thanks

| Did you bleed the whole system and replace with DOT3 or 4? | |

| Might be part of the problem, but are you sure it's a bad caliper? maybe brake fluid just isn't reaching it | |

| Make sure your car can use dot 5 cuz it's silicone(I beleive so) based and if the brake system isn't for it then it will form bubbles in your brake system and you'll have problems | |

| more knowledge please. did not know that DOT 5 is Silicone.
Someone told me just stick with Dot 4.
I'll be bleeding the brakes and flushing the system on Thursday around 5-6pm...however long it takes.
I'm in the learning stage also.

| Make sure you have two people to bleed the brakes. I'm sure there are ways to do it by yourself but that would probably take a longggg time.
And DOT4 is more than you would ever need for a street car but it doesn't hurt.

| The difference between them is there boiling points. Dot 3 has the lowest of them, dot 4 is a bit higher and dot 5 is the best usually only used in exotic cars. If your not sure don't go with dot 5, few vehicles call for it and like I said it will bubble up in your brake lines, hoses, etc. And mess things up. And yeah u need two people, one pumps the brakes and holds the pedal depressed and the other opens the bleeder valve. Repeat untill air is out of caliper and do the other ones. | |

| dot 5 is synthetic. if it says do 4 on the lid put dot 4 in it. dot 3 like wise. dot 5 just softens hoses if it isnt designed for it. | |

| i think fluid isn;t getting to the caliper. If a flush doesn't fix it I'll just bring it back to the dealership | |

| also dot 3 and 4 have corrosion protectants where as DOT 5 does not so when you go to DOT 5 more than likely there will still be a little moisture in the system and corrode your lines away | |

| The front left brakes are still not contacting. The caliper is acting weird. I guess bleeding/flushing the brakes will do the job. I might just bring it to Honda and have them do it. | |

| remember, that doesn't figure in mileage, and, when we went to trade in our 1997 jeep Wrangler for a new one, they offered us $800 (that was the highest, out of about 4 dealerships we went to) it had like 86k on it at the time. Dealers are ripoffs when it comes to trades..look up book on a 97 wrangler with 86k, probably more than your car. | |

either way, your car probably wont even make it on the lot if you trade it in, it will go directly to auction, where they will be HOPING they can sell it.
