| i know Jeremy and a few other subyes i saw jeremy work on had a bolt coming very lose on their header or turbo manifold or something like that. i have no idea what the name of it was but it does cause boost leak. Jeremy said its a problem with subeys and all it is is just a screw that holds two manifolds or something together. | |

| freddy, me and frank had the same problem except i cant get past 16. i did notice some black soot around the BOV and i am going to change gasket and see if that helps. check your Y pipe on the intercooler for cracks or even the throttle body coupler from the intercooler. thats about the only common ones i can think of. good luck buddy | |

| What sort of actuator are you using? I know on the AVO turbos, there are two different actuators. One will only let you go to about 14-15 psi. The other lets you go to about 16-17. It doesn't matter what values you set, the actuator is a mechanical stop that will let you go only so far. | |

| my old td06 20g had problems boosting past 8psi. the spool was fine, once up to 8psi it would start jumping around then a huge spike wtf!? ended up being the actuator the wg would close because of exhaust turbulence would slam it shut makin tha boost spike. good turbo just needed a ewg or a down pipe to dump futher down the exhaust instead of right at tha elbow. | |

| Check all your vacuum areas. What I do is take one hose off at a time and plug one end and blow in the other. It is an easy way to find a cracked line. Having a cracked Y-pipe would kill your boost. Anything before the throttlebody, CHECK IT!! | |

| Boost leak tester ftw. Check out this link, you'll be able to put one together for dirt cheap. http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-install/119676-diy-another-boost-leak-tester.htmlThis is a VERY important tool to use before ANY tune especially on cars that use a pre turbo MAFS Your problem could also be caused by a pre turbo exhaust leak (easiest way to check for this is look at ALL the connections from cylinder head to turbo. Most common place is usually on the up pipe for you subi guys) | |

| Haha i see how old they are, if the info given doesn't help the original poster perhaps someone else will find it useful nothing like adding a boost leak tester to the tool box if it only costs ya some pocket change, an hour or 2 and a trip to homedepo | |

nothing like adding a boost leak tester to the tool box if it only costs ya some pocket change, an hour or 2 and a trip to homedepo So why would I want to build one of those when I have a smoke machine and a radiator pressure tester already that runs off shop air.... oh and the hand pump type..... and a cylinder leak down tester..... and......
