And Shaun, according to their website they have scrapped all the rubber off the track and put down some traction compound. Hopefully it'll be alright.

What are the rules about a trunk mounted battery? Had to put the battery in the trunk to make room for the procharger. I just have it mounted in a cradle with no box, vent, or cut off switch. I know some tracks are picky about those things. Hope I pass the tech inspection!

I would like to head out there tomorrow, but I am not 100% yet. The weather is going to be a 50/50 shot and I am guessing there will be precipitation.

Gillis says they removed the rubber from the first 330'. I hope that's good enough? It should be but last weekend I saw chunks fly off the road behind me going into 3rd gear. That's a bit further down the road than 330'.

Well, looks as though I won't be racing tonight after all. Stupid oil return line is leaking again and my alternator belt decided to shred itself on the way to work this morning

I may get it all back together in time but I doubt it.....

Does anyone have a helmet I could borrow? This will be my first time at the track so I haven't really thought about investing in one.

I have one but still undecided if i'm going. Watching the weather, don't want to drive down and have them cancel.

shit, i'm not going to make it after all. one of my guys wife went in to labor, Shawn took the week off so i am doing his job and mine,and another one of my guys flew out to sandeigo. its a fail for me today.

I wont be able to get out there until about 8, so it is probably a no go for me. Tomorrow isn't looking that good yet either. We'll see how it goes I guess but that bitch mother nature might be working against us again this weekend.

I would have to guess the races will be canceled, but we can always hope it will blow over.

Yep what a shame! I walked the length of the race track when I showed up around 5 and it sure looked a lot better. Plus, while I was there, Gillis sprayed some compound on the entire length of the track. To me it looked a lot better than it did last week. Certainly worth a try.

Then a stray thunderstorm came along and crapped on us. The end.

Although I've heard some bad things about Gillis, I think he's had some shitty luck so far. He admits making mistakes and not knowing exactly how to do things right the first time. But hey, at least he has the balls to try to get the track going. If it weren't for him there wouldn't be a track at all this year.

I say we give him a chance. Sure he might be a little crazy but he means good. After that rain rolled through he had a pretty beaten down look on his face. Hopefully things start working out.

I dont mean to be negative, as I am usually pretty positive, but this guy really pissed me off last weekend and I would like to see him gone. If he had not leased the track I am sure someone would have worked taken it over and we be rolling (minus the weather of course).

Kudos to him for trying, but our good lord is trying to tell him something, PACK IT UP AND MOVE ON!

According to the website he's trying to run the place today. I looked at the doppler and it doesn't show anything obviously bad out there, just kind of little blue specks. But that was how it showed up right before I left work to go out there yesterday and we know how that ended up.

With a 50% chance of rain in billings today I think it's silly to even bother. Maybe he feels like he has to considering what happened yesterday and the fact that he's paying some of those people to work out there. I don't know.

If I were him I'd kinda be wondering whether this was just not meant to be @ this point.

The longer he has the strip with no racing the more money he is loosing. I am sure he will try and run today, because if he doesnt he may be in financial trouble. Even if they end up opening, I seriously doubt many people will show due to the weather.

He's basically 0-4 at this point. Twice because of the weather. Twice due to ineptitude. Actually 0-5 if you count today, also due to weather.

How much longer can this go on? How deep are his pockets?

Guess we'll find out.
