I really hope things don't escalate between the two countries. Obama and Clinton have said we are backing South Korea 100%.

We have been backing them 100% for decades, if not the North would have invaded a long time ago. When I was over there we were told that the we were just enough to stall the North until a large allied force could be assembled and land. We were just expected to delay their push and hold on to at least Pusan (very small corner fo the country). A million + man army, no matter how poorly geared and underfed, would still make a pretty impressive push in such a small country.

The Korean War never really ended. A CEASEFIRE armistice was signed in 1953, which halted the fighting and re-established a DMZ between North and South Korea. Last year, in 2009, North Korean withdrew from that armistice, thus putting both countries back into a condition of war. In short, the war has been on hold since 1953.

Everyone knows about North Korea's nuclear capability. What no one wants to talk about is its chemical and biological warfare capability.

The question is if they are nuts enough to use any of their WMD. Because if they are we have the capacity to pretty much wipe them off the face of the planet. At the cost of many casualties on our own side as well as civies on the SK side.

If they want to play nukes they are going to lose. It will pretty much be suicide. The Soviets weren't insane enough to start anything because they knew of the consequences. The NK's? I hope they aren't as crazy as they seem.

look at Hiroshima what we did to them after they surprise attacked us on Pearl Harbor we literally Vaporized the whole city a lot of our higher ups are as trigger happy as a hunter on the first day of hunting season

I hate to say it but i DO HATE war, Nukes and everything, but im glad we nuked Hiroshima, it showed what the US could do. IT ended the war VERY quick. US and Japan are now allies. it also showed nukes are not a joke but did show some people what nukes could do if by chance went into the wrong hands.

being trigger happy ahd nuthin to do with the droppin of the atomic bomb. actually it saved lives

were were expecting over 1 millon causalities if we invaded japan . the droppin of the bomb was the lesser of 2 evils . japan was unbelivable militant durin that period of history .

if we had invaded japan they probly would have ceased to exist as a people . japense casulities were expected to be over 10 million or more . if u want to see what woudl have happened look at okinawa and iwo jima . that what would have happened on the home islands of japan times 1000+
