| is a 3.0 V6 eclipse motor worth rebuilding or should i just get a different motor all together? i want to add turbos and lots of performance stuff to it. | |

| hop on club3g.com and look into a 6g74 swap. it is a 3.5L diamante engine that fits in without much work. | |

| Mine is stock but has 160,000 miles on it and have never had a lick of trouble.. It's currently torn apart for spark plugs and timing belt.
The crank and rods are decent, but pistons are HORRIBLE quality.
To be honest, if you want your car to be fast, you are better of selling it and get something else....

| Off topic yes, but Wicky don't you live just down the street from me? I don't know much about 3rd gens but I'm usually up for wrenching. keeps my mind off things | |

| yeah, it is, but it faces the other way. I wish it would work out, but you would have to essentially remake the entire engine bay to get it to fit into the 3rd gen eclipse. Not only that but you would have to find some way to swap the rear subframe to support a new fuel tank and rear axles with a differential inbetween them. Then a driveshaft slot... It would cost less to just buy a vr4 | |

| As internet rules state "Pics or didn't happen" in this case link or didn't happen
I'm a big supporter of DSMtuners but lately it's been getting difficult to scour through all the duplicate threads. It would be more helpful for wicky if you could possibly locate and post the link to said thread
I did a quick search few speak of the actual 3rd Gen's engine bay. Most of the threads are speaking of swapping the 6g72TT AWD into 1g and 2g DSM's but past that not much else. But, then again, DSMtuners likes to stick more towards 4G63 powered DSM and Galant VR4's with a few 420a guys in there | |

| yeah i was mistaken i saw the pic on dsmtuners and it said 3rd gen 6g72 but it was a 2g so i was mistaken and i apologize.. but tht would be a cool swap but yeah almost impossible and yet again im sorry but yeah there are a couple 6g72 swaps and there is a guy evo8 swaping his 01 galant which idk but that would be a sweet swap for the 3rd gen | |
