| Avoid Engines Etc. Local guy had a BBC block cleaned and checked...the block came back with a fuel pump push rod stuck in the block and a crack in the lifter valley. Apparently they cant do either.

ka24de built for boost or high compression NA build? If you don't end up finding someone your comfortable working with in Billings we can supply anything from a machined block to a fully assembled long block

I know theres many out there just looking for the right one seeing since this is a car forum I leave some room for disputing to find the right shop to go with so CHAT ON PLEASE!!!!! I also have never had any issues with Hartung machine.... but they're specialty is not little 4cyl's either.... if you use them just make sure you know exactly what you want and tell them and they will do exactly what you tell them. i have recently tried Cal down at Magic city engine rebuilders with no issues either. 406-855-8807. he used to work for the B2B machine shop when it was going with Don Witcomb... and I think he was part of the Web Machine adventure but not sure. He's got a small shop but I've been treated well. He does good cyl head work... He also did all the bottom end work on my B20Vtec S/C build... I just know for a fact he cant install sleeves in the Honda blocks.... IDK if he does balance work or not but I use Shawn Maddox (ex mobile serv auto/machine) in shepherd for all my balance work. Few friends have used Cal on their engines too... everything checks out on the build that he's done so far so you might give him a try.

| Whatever you do, stay the fuck away from Eric's Cylinder Service
Dude is a hack, doesn't know what the fuck he is doing, and a mental midget.
I had great service from Engines Etc. Don't care for Jerry the owner much, but Gary is a great guy and machinist. Had one small issue with a crank they supplied and ground for me having too much endplay, they got another one and ground it for me no problems. Jerry did the valve job on my heads and took my word that the guides were good (I checked them before dropping off the heads) and didn't try to treat me like an idiot that doesn't know what the fuck I'm doing.

| I have had experience with both Hartung (my father-in-law) and Engines Etc. Engines Etc took .040 off my pistons 3 years ago and they looked great. As far as speed goes, they are a bit slow. It took them a week just to get my block washed and ready for re-assembly.
Norm at Hartung is a fantastic guy and he is much quicker for turnaround. Had him dunk my heads overnight before the last engine install I did and they turned out fantastic.
