Lewistown [May 29th] 2010

Well it is approaching the beginning of the 2010 season and I will be contacting the track to see what days are open. I will post as soon as I have more information.

Mike I am super excited and hope to have my car ready to do some drifting out there. Any chance of getting some Saturday and Sunday events setup? Anything before September is going to be good for me. Once September rolls around I spend all my free time in the mountains with my bow, so I never make it out to events usually that late in the year.

All events will more than likely be on Saturday. I like to have a day off before returning to work after a long day of racing. I just need to get everyones opinion on what Saturday of which month.

ANY weekend works good for me Mr. Card so I'll let everyone else pitch in their $.02 about the date

I like how you think. Saturdays work so much better for me, for a lot of reasons.

Big Nels is getting Married August 7th so that is a bad weekend for the the TS guys.

I was thinking if I could get a weekend in June that may work great. I would much rather have a day at the track when it is not quite so hot.

Someday Ill get the balls to head out there with you guys... maybe till then I can ride with someone... LOL

Hey Nik, you don't have to ask permission to hang with the group or show at a meet. Obviously the track days cost a little money to drive but, everyone is free to show up. Join the early morning caravan!

Well last time there was about 5 or 6 of us who left very early( 3am) to make it up there before the sun came up. others showed up around 7-8 am. This is a great event and ton of learning and fun to be had.

WOOT WOOT!!!! That's a lot of time for mods....... hhhhhmmmmm........

I GUARANTEE I will be running AWD with 14lbs as of track day 1....and you can take that to the bank.

so mike.... You said that dates were set. but I don't see where you actually say what the dates are. You mention april29th and august11th. are those race dates? or are those just cut off dates for payment?

They are set. He says that within the fist two scentences of the post. "DATES ARE SET LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! May 29th and September 11th." The April and August dates are dates to get your payments in by to get the $10 discount.

Have you talked to vern already and he said he wasn't sure? Or have you just not asked him yet?

I have not yet talked to Vern as I want to try and make this happen without him, but I was going to stop in and talk with him this week to see who he goes through for insurance and maybe he will just throw it out there again.

Dam, early birds.. well im up for whatever, im young so I can make it on little sleep.

I am planning on doing another 3am run. It was nice to get up there early and get everything set up.

But maybe shut down the track and just watch you run around by yourself at Lewistown for ten minutes or so would be cool. Of coarse.... I'd want to try it too though. lol

Are we doing Autocross or Drag Racing in Lewistown? or both?

Autocross(cone killing). during lunch some people go off to the side a do a little drag racing.

Oh yeah for sure i wouldnt want to run with everybody else. that would be dangerous for sure. id bring a car to run also. id like to just have one for fun. im thinking about maybe getting on this summer or later on down the road. it wouldnt be fair to run next to other cars they are so quick. we went to KS this summer and we rented some at a track man they are fun and really fast.

Heres a video from one of the events last year. heres RJ in his STI. he also has a S2000. hes a very good driver.
