Detailing junkies come in. For all you clean freaks like myself.

Well as most of you know im a clean freak. for the most part you will never see my truck dirty. I have been this way from day one. I spend a few hours detailing my truck every weekend. Well being the car show season is upon us. Im starting to detail the truck up for some shows. Over the winter the wife got me the polisher ive been wanting (the Porta cable 7424 PC) this seems to be the buffer to have. So i went ahead a purchased some polishes and wax's. I went with Adam's products. so far this stuff is amazing. i have been on this detailing forum for a week or so. heres the link to the Forum http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/index.php you detailer should check it out. it has tons of good info. i have learned that ive been putting most of the blemishes in my paint. do to improperly maintaining my paint. i will be polishing and waxing my truck this friday (4/30). i have never used a buffer before. i will show the finished product when im done. i have done a few test panels with it and it turned out great. heres a few pictures of the deck lid i polished for my test past. these are before and afters. i only polished tis panel i never applied any wax to this. heres where i bought all my stuff from. its aliitle spendy but well worht it IMO. http://www.adamspolishes.com/

in this picture you can see the very deep scratches but for the most part they all cam out.

I need to get a setup like that. I am tired of using a stupid buffer as it takes forever as it only runs about 100rpm. I read on the Maguiers website running about 1200rpm is optimal for cutting down scratches.

I wish I had that cash money for something like this. It looks like an awesome kit you go there Shawn!

yeah it seems to be a pretty nice kit. ive been on there forum for a few hours today. i cant wait to start detailing tomorrow. im thinking ill have like 8 to 10 hours from start to finish. i will start off by washing it with a 2 bucket set up. then i will dry it followed by clay barring it. after the clay i will wash it again then dry again. then i can start polishing it i will start with a swirl and haze remover(SHR). i will probably polishes it with swirl and haze remover twice. After completing the swirl and haze remover i will then move to fine machine polish (FMP). then finally i will be on the finally step which is machine super wax(MSW). that will take about 12 hours to cure. then i will post picture. it should turn out pretty sweet. At least i hope.

Then you can stop by and do my car! lol.

I'm Interested to see pics. My car is in a desperate need of a cut and buff.

well i just finished. holy shit. that kicked my ass. well now i have to wait 12 hours before i can wipe if off again. but i turned out great. i will post some pictures in a bit. i dont have any good pictures cause. i cant take it out side cause the wax needs to cure. but i will post pictures anyways.

well it was kinda raining as i was washing it early. then i hurry and dried it then i put it in the garage. so i finished it all out of the weather. now its just chilling in the garage. im uploading pictures right now so in another hour ill have them up. looking through all the pictures i took man my paint was beat.

well heres the some of the pictures i took. you never know how bad your paint is until you throw some light on it. its just crazy cause my truck always cleaned up pretty good with just a wash and detail. i never knew how messed up i was until i really started working it under the lights. there is some before and after pictures. sorry i couldnt get better pics. i didnt want to take it far from home with the wax not being cured.

Very nice! That looks fantastic. I'll definitely have to get some detailing tips from you. My paint looks horrible compared to when I bought it.

not very much. i think out of one bottle 16.oz i could do my truck 4 times. it doesn't take much. here the adams forum if you want any info. i have been on this forum nonstop. http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/index.php

yea i've been reading up on it. my girl's civic si needs a little more to really clean the hood and bumper up. my usual detailing dd pretty good but just a little less scratches would be nice. hoods on new civics love to scoop rocks.

i would have my truck done haha..if you threw a price out there that you think is fair, i will probably pay it, lol.

My car is in desperate need of a cut and buff. Let me know ur price. I am going to remove the pinstripe beforehand however with an eraser wheel. The thing is as soon as I do that, it HAS to be cut and buffed.

that would be easy for me lol.

thats pretty impressive i been detailing for a couple years and the results of that are fantastic! one thing you could do is use this product i use on customer cars its a simoniz teflon protectant dirt doesn't like to stick to it and if you apply it every three months or so you will rarely have to wax let me know and i'll get you two bottles so you can try it out man!
