Need opinion on what toy to get. Quad or street bike.

Well sense the SS lost another tranny. I have no need to work on it and put a tranny back in it right away ( kinda tired of working on it this year).So im thinking of buying a new toy of some sort. Im really stuck between a quad or a street bike. So Im kinda looking for some insight. im having a hard time making up my mind. No matter what i get id like it to be a small project. What do you guys think would be best. here my options. if i get a bike it will be a R6 or R1 just a normal street bike. If i get a quad id like it to have a Street bike motor in it of some sort. So if i go the quad route heres some more option's. I (rob) knows of 2 quads that already have street bike motors in them that are already built and ready to go. Or i could find a rolling chassis quad and put my own motor in it. So like i said im kinda stuck just looking for your guys opinion?

I would vote Bike. I feel like they hold value better too, so if you decide to sell you can get most if not all your money back. Or maybe even talk the seller down, ride for a year, and make profit come spring?

Whatever i get i dont plain on selling for a very long time if ever. Reason being is cause whatever i get i plain on making it my own. so to do that i will be dropping some $$$ into it. therefore wont be able to get $$$ back out of it.

Just doing the work for a Streetbike quad swap would be fun, Im putting my vote in that box.

IMO that thing is ugly. not feeling it at all.

Go for the bike easy to get fast and millions of mods available.

the can am's are fun as hell to ride..

dirtbike with a street bike engine with dirt tires and a set of supermoto rims and tires.

1st: Can-Am. If you want to turn heads and be unique. They yellow one is a little odd looking, But I think it's the best of both the other choices (safer than a bike, and faster than a quad). You could always color match it to the SS. I LOVE that kinda stuff. Imagine a color matched Can-Am in the bed at shows. Then you could pull it out to make coffee or food runs without taking the truck out of the show. That's cool!

3rd: Quad. I like seeing quads in the dirt or at the dunes, not on the street. Plus, they just don't seem like your style.

Quad. Not many quads have a street bike engines. yes bikes may bee cooler but i bet quads dont fall over as easy.

I have had two sport quads a 04 raptor 660 and a 07 ltr 450 racequad. I have also had a street bike 06 r6. All were brand new and very fun. I wish I could have them both.

Your big blue bike was only an R6??

Can-Am fo sho man!!! No ? Color-match that bitch and stick in the SS like Adam said and it only makes you look that much better at shows or even just cruizin. (As if you don't already turn heads)

Can-am is a no go for sure. way more than i want to speed for one. i couldn't find one for less than 10K. Whatever i end up with i will be paying cash for. both a bike and a quad have tons of plus's. this will be something that i ride to work on nice days and then take out and cruise on the weekends. I just really want something other than a big vehicle. something i can just hop on and ride.

Its not a normal old quad id be looking for. it would be something like this. something with a street bike motor in it.

I had a feeling the Can-Am was a little pricey for what you were looking to do. It sounds like you'd be happy with either the bike or quad.

How about just waiting to see which one comes across first as one of those "too good to pass up" kinda deals?

Hmm..I don't know, I always thought it was a much bigger bike. Maybe just cuz I was younger and didn't know anything about bikes. I thought that thing was like a superbike though.

I get the feeling from this thread that you would prefer a quad, so do it. If you put a liter+ motor with a turbo and run it at the 1/4 mile at least a couple times, I'll still love you hehe.

How about something like this? I know the guy that ownes it.
