| Did you use an impact wrench to put the lugs on or did you torque them down in stages in a star pattern? | |

So are you saying that your buddy's truck also shakes with these wheels at 35 mph and up? If that is the case then it is obviously an issue with the wheels and/or tires. What kind of wheels and tires are they? I would check the mounting surfaces of the wheels and rotors, make sure that nothing will interfere and can mount flush. Sometimes there are clips over one or more wheel studs that help retain the rotor, they often interfere with mounting of aftermarket wheels. If so they can be removed without any problems.
I don't mean to offend, but if you take your time writing your post using correct punctuation and grammar, it will be much easier for us to figure out whats going on to help you. I am by no means perfect, just want to help out.

| Just a suggestion but I've been told that some aftermarket wheels need hub centric rings when using an impact.
If you take your time and torque it down in stages by hand using the star pattern then it should center OK. I usually torque mine down by hand with a regular 1/2" ratchet about as tight as I can get it. Then I break out the torque wrench and set it to 70 ft. lbs. After that I get the wheels on the ground and then do the final torquing to 100. Haven't had a problem doing this yet.

| so did you try his tires on your truck? or did you try yours on his, if you get the chance try it out and use his, if it shakes, the tires are out of the question, other than that, check the mounting surface as stated for clips, rocks and other debris, it could be something also lodged in the mounting of the rim Did they balance the tires after they got the new shoes or before you had them on? I have a toyota, had that problem and it was my front hubs were somewhat still engaged... so maybe? I dunno just some suggestions, wheel bearings... motor mounts.. ECT... let me know, it could also be because of impacting them on, could go too far on the threads, balance it out with just a normal wrench, then do what riptide said. if anything else PM me and we could maybe meet up. | |

| Check and see if the wheels are hub centric or lug centric. A lot of aftermarket wheels require special lug nuts due to the angle of the lug nut seat. Using hub centric rings is always the preferred method. But if you don't have any just make sure to tighten the lugs slowly and make sure as you slowly tighten one lug that the wheel stud is lined up in the center of the lug seat area. If your using OEM style lug nuts that could also be a problem as they usually have a different lug seat angle. Some even are not cone shaped and are meant to only be used with OEM wheels. If you can't figure it our by tomorrow and want to swing by my work I can check the lug nuts and wheels for you.
Regardless of using a Tq wrench, impact or regular socket, the purpose of hub centric rings is to hold the wheel centered while you get everything tight. If you don't use them especially with an impact you run the risk of tightening one stud with the wheel off center, then each other stud will be off center as well. This will usually loosen up the wheel/lug nut as you drive making it even worse, or if it stays tight but off center it will shake like crazy.

| Tires are probably out of round even if they are new. Also having a slight bend in them can do the same thing. Ive delt with a lot of trucks that have the same issue. Most of the time is a issue with a wheel or tire. It could also be an issue with the steering components. Putting larger/heavy tires and wheels on a worn stock front steering will bring the worn parts to life. Idler arms on Toyotas are notorious for crapping out, you may also need to add a steering stabilizer. Having a class 7s Toyota race truck a few years ago I never ran into these issues because I fabricated my own Heim joint steering.
also what wheels and tires did you go with?

| the shocks are probably absorbing the bounce, possibly, but if the truck got into a wreck, a hub could be bent or out of specifications, lift the truck up and spin the tires, you can watch if its off. | |
