The first offcial billings

Well Headstart schools asked me to head up a car show to benifit the Headstart schools here in billings. At this time i only know the date as i found out this morning. It is in the earily in the spring which might not work out, but i said I would get everything lined up weather permitting. the date is March 27th from 9am-2pm. I will update as i get more details. Let me know what you lady's and gentlemen think.

Sounds great. I actually had my car in a show for the first time this year and it was pretty fun. Just sat around and talked cars all day.

A show for a good cause! That's great, I have been considering a "cars for kids" show the last few years but since my car isn't much of a show car I never followed through with it. If this happens and my car is ready by then you can count me in. I'm always in for a good cause.

Count me in as well. I love giving back to the community.

March isn't exactly the best month to have a car show I will agree. Keep us updated on this though Chris.

Now to the OT: I've wanted to put the Venge in a car show for years now, but it's never quite been "car show worthy"

i had my car in a car show the day after i got it! it was a bit weird considering it was bone stock. it didnt get a lot of lookers but the best thing was like mike said you get to talk cars all day and make new friends and get to see some sweet cars that you dont normally see! sorry for goin a bit off topic. as for the headstart show i think that is a great idea and i will definatly attend if the weather is good for it. supposed to be a mild winter i guess

I really appreciate that you guys are all for the show. im pretty sure that the gazette, tv stations, and a radio station will be there (i need to talk to darren at 106.7 he does all the remotes at our work)

The car show that Mike spoke of was the Emmanuel Car show at emmanuel baptist church. It was a sponsored event and FREE! I helped organize it and it was a SUPER turnout! I mean come on we got Mike didn't we! Hahaha. We will be doing the same thing next year also. Back on topic: I will be attending the one in march also. I can help out with the show plans too if needed. PM me if you would like some help. Since this show is to benefit the kids instead of a dealership or somebody trying to promote something, we ALL need to show our support and make it a huge turnout. (Plus it could be a super fun meet day!)

Does Billings still do BURN THE POINT? I haven't been back in 5 years. I drive a 2007 Honda Civic Coupe EX Black on Black with Nav and other electrical goodies.

Oh ya, Burn The Point is still HUGE every year!! This year it fell on the same weekend a Mustang club was having their meet so there were plenty of Mustangs in the show

Yeah we still have burn the point. It is usually in August.

I've never been a car-show type guy, but if its supporting a good cause, I will be there (work permitting).

sorry guys been absent from the site for some time. i literally have only 2 soft spots kids and animals. and although anastasia is far from car show worthy kids sure seem to love it. im assuming its the dc stickers. i am down. as some of you know there's nothing i enjoy more then bullshittin about cars.

i havent foregot about this guys, been preaty busy since november. i have another meeting with the school and parents this thursday. i will let you know what they need and want done.

good news, i got the carshow moved to May 1st. (whoo hoo) better weather. I should have more details later tonight if not tomarrow morning.

So i have the gazette, klur 8, & ktvq that wil be there. I am going to also try for a radio station (101.9 or 106.7 more than likley unless somone knows someone ). I am also going to talk to a few business' about sponsering some food and possbly a couple of raffels. If anyone has anymore ideas i am open to any. my digits are 598-4847, call me or txt me. ill have to get ahold of nate; i know he and nate s. have some experiace here. I still havent figured out an entry fee (most all of that will go to the signage and t-shirts and the rest to the school), but spread the word to all fellow car enthusiasts. We are going to help out our comunity a little at a time. thanks

okay, had another parent meeting tonight (no i dont have a kid) so far sweetheart bakery is providing the buns, and (i cant remember the company) is providing all of the meat. so bbq is taken care of.

there will be no entry fee for the cars or spectators. (although i will have a donation box for the school)

Im still trying to get the desigen drawn up for the entry forms and t-shirts (shirts will cost a couple $)

like mentioned before both tv stations will be there.

I mentioned that most of the cars are from maecforum.com so that we as a club get a good rep. woot woot.

there will be 5 classes for awards, 1. Best in show, 2. Best new generation, 3. best muscle, 4. best truck, 5. Kids choice. For these classes the kids would like to make the trophies/plaques.

thats cool chris. i think you should really start letting people know this will be going on. i think you could get alot more people then you think. most auto parts stores will let you hang flyers and try places like apc and other auto place like tires stores and maybe northland or autotrim. im just tryin to get you a good turn out. there is a ton of nice cars around this town. you just really need to promote and they will come.

You could get hold of the Burn-The-Point crew and have them list it on their car show calender. Could probably get hold of the other groups that have calenders on their websites and make sure the get this one added.

If there is a poster my boss will let me put it up in the Casino, and he might even bring his hummer down?

So how do you get your car into this show? I wouldn't mind helping out for a good cause. However, I just have a grocery gettin' wagon...

i want to make this big, but it origanly started out as just a classroom kids and parent day. they dont want me to make it bigger than their biggest event "heros hunt", but next year is when i can open a can and really get this thing going. i have to talk to my friend staci some more about tossing a ad in the gazzett for some advertising. once i get the logo drawn up i can get the flyers out. plus i cant have over about 60 cars (school parking lot isnt big enuf) any more than that and ill need a permit. im thinking a bigger place next year.

I'm not going to be able to make it, as I am planning on being in Washington for the Northwest Annual Spring Honda-Tech meet at Pacific Raceways. Sorry guys.

My son has been in head start as he's autistic. I'm all in wherever I can help. I also know the owners of MoJo 92.5 and they're located at the coffee place we hang out at.

buzz, i would really appreciate that right now. like i stated the school closed me down for this year. they dont want it bigger than 60 cars, and i know that i am close or at that right now.

So does that mean its not goin on this year...Cause if thats the case, I would think we would be able to find SOMEWHERE that would be big enough for a good sized show. If we know we're gonna have that many cars, can we ask one of the colleges or the COT if we could use their parking lot or WalMart, Target, etc...I would think one of those businesses would do it since its for kids and schools. its still going on at the school, i can only have about 60 cars. i just wanted to advertise more, and they told me i have to wait till next year.

Since the date has changed since you first posted, will you post an official update including time, address, and anything else essential that attendors need to know. Since you can have only 60 cars, how and when are you registering? With the advertising you have had, I suspect more than 60 are interested already and you may be surprised at the amount of people who will just show up with cars expecting to be in and part of the show and you will already be out of room. This thing is gonna be really cool and great that it benefits these kids. I hope everything goes well and again let me know if you need help dude.

there is no entry fee (but dontatinos to the school are accepted).

it is very frustrating to me, you must realize that it isnt just me that is trying to put this together. I am trying to incorperate the school and familys also so they feel that they have accomplished somthing also.
