| How much do you guys think I could get for my 1990 civic LX with a leaking head gasket? Starts and runs, has a newish battery.
Just kinda getting an idea for how much I might get if I decide to get rid of the car instead of fix it.

| How many miles? What kind of shape is it in? I am assuming it is a 4 door since it is an LX. I maybe interested for a dd. | |

| It's an LX 4 door. For it's age it's in good shape inside and out. Axle boots need replacing soon, they are cracked. Timing belt is going to be due in about a year. I was going to do that this year but now after finding out about the head gasket I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet.
If I decide to get rid of the car I don't think I'm going to do so until spring time. Unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse or if the head gasket leak gets worse in a major hurry.

I feel the need to restate what I mentioned earlier regarding my desire to keep the car until spring unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse. I'm not trying to be an ass about it - honesty is the best policy. I don't like to dick with people or be dicked with.

| So anyone want to give me an idea on how much they think the car is worth as is?
Or does anyone know where I can get the head gasket done for $500 or less?

| Call me if you're interested in having the headgasket replaced. I can do it for you for relatively cheap, and have done several in the past.
I'd suggest replacing the timing belt while into it that far, and the water pump as they maybe take an additional half hour.

| Thanks I'll keep you in mind. I've got a couple other estimates and so far they are all way less than the dealership wanted.
Considering all the options and am waiting until march or april before I do this. Hoping to put it off until then if at all possible.

| older hondas are not worth much. i have found that a 86-89 accord 5 speed is worth it weight in gold. id say $500 to $750 with a leaky head gasket, and aound $1000 with all the tune ups done (cvs, head gasket, t-belt, ect. ). | |
