I don't know who it is but doesn't this sound weird "the boy was not wearing shoes and it appears his foot slipped off the clutch and hit the gas pedal when the car was in first gear." you have to be pretty bad to have your foot slip of the clutch miss the brake entirely and hit the gas pedal without stalling

I find it amusing that his foot "slipped off the clutch pedal and onto the gas" Must be pretty talented to do that without hitting the brake pedal first!!

Alabama, Ohio, and California.

I'm not sure why we should be legislating common sense. Driving without shoes falls under that umbrella IMO. And besides you're not gonna get someone for it unless you pull them over for something else anyway. Or they pull a stunt like this dingaling did.

I have seen many more articles saying that it is legal..

I recently researched it because I pretty much ALWAYS drive barefoot... I mostly wear flipflops and its impossible to drive the cobra with them.

Plus, I have Bullitt pedals which are billet with round rubber grips which makes them awesome barefoot..
