| was driving along and my engine stalled for split second, I let off and when I got back on it I had no boost. The turbo is still together, so maybe its an internal seal or something? anybody got any ideas? | |

| Did you see any clouds of puffs of smoke? When mine blew, it left tons of smoke. Ah... good times, touge with Bone, and then a smokescreen.
I would check all your boost/vacuum lines first.

| it was around ten last night on the back roads so it was hard to tell if there was any smoke because it was so dark. As far as it spooling up, I dont think it is, I hear a sound like something is loose inside it. So something is spinning, it just isnt putting out any pressure. Is it bad to drive it car with a broken turbo? | |

| you wont hurt your motor driving with a blown turbo but I would avoid it if you can. reach into the turbo when the car is off and try to wiggle the impeller, if it moves up down or in out thats bad (duh). If it does have really bad shaft play drive to zimmerman park, unbolt the turbo and chuck it off the rims. then buy a new turbo. Or climb down and get the turbo you threw (cause youre a dummy) and have it rebuilt. haha good luck man | |

| Maybe you just have a big boost leak somewhere? Have you done a basic intake pressure test? | |

| well after finally getting a chance to look at it, it appeara that there is some shaft play but I don think thats the problem. I think it is an internal seal. No I havent done any pressures tests, I dont have the equipment to do one, so if any body wants to help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if CX Racing makes good stuff? The guy I bought the car from said that's what kind of turbo it is. So I'm debating on rebuilding it or buying a new. Whichever way I go I dont awant to spend a ton of money. | |

| i have some intake pressure testing stuff i made. it basically is just a rubber cap with a valve stem, and it fits over a standard 2" turbo inlet. i just clamp it on, hook up the compressor, and listen for hissing. works well. | |

| being boosted is definatly not going to be a cheap adventure! CX-racing is an "ebay" brand. I would say they are one step above the no name guys on ebay, but they still sit in the bottom of the group.
If boost leak testing is not something you are comfortable with, I would say switch back to NA... leak testing should take you about five second of searching online to understand the concept and another 5 minutes to put parts together and test. | |

| I wouldnt go na. after driving a boosted car you will be nothing but dissapointed with an na setup. Turbo cars are high maint. but relativly low in cost, compared to a built na motor. thats the trade off, good luck man. | |
