Anyone been to lewistown drag strip?

Has anyone been there? We made some changes to the car and wanted to know if it is worth running there. Is track prep good? And does anyone know if we will have a track in Acton this season?

Lewistown is shit, track is rough as hell,and prep is usualy non existent.If your up for a little more of a drive Boise is having import summer jam this saturday and they have a class for v8 cars.They have a open test and tune from 11 til 4 and then racing from 4:30
til midnight.

I don't think I can make that trip on short notice. Plus my girlfriend would freak if I went on another long trip to race again. So lewistown sucks that bad?

Lewistown is a little ruff but it is a good track to go testing on. The track prep is usally pretty decent. Went there last year a few times to test before making the long haul to Billings. People bitch about how old it is but 8 and 9 sec cars run on it all the time so how bad can it be. It may be old but it is a race track with track prep that is not a 3 hour or more drive away. I plan to race there for sure. I bet it is better than what gilles had going on for sure.

Hay Brett do you have a adjustable clutch in that thing, if not I bet that would help you alot getting all that power to the gound.

I've heard enough bad things I'm not really inclined to try it. I remember Josh in particular talking negatively about that place.

Lewistown is the worst strip we have ever been on. Another better option would be douglas, that track was resurfaced last year and hooks a whole lot better than lewistown and is a whole lot safer.

I bet Douglas is a nicer track than Lewistown. But it's a good six hour drive away? And high elevation?

Sucks that Acton is closed down.

Is lewis a 1/8 mile track?

I believe it's a full 1/4.

i thought it was 1/8 also. Douglas is ok, but the air is shit.

They are hydraulic clutches so there is no adjustment.

They race this weekend and not again till mid August. We should go saturday.

No, I went camping instead. I want to hit up douglas soon. I just drove buy it going to Denver and it's only a 4 1/2 hour drive. We need to see about renting our track for the day!

Renting Acton? That sounds like a lotta fun. Only thing is that place might need quite a bit of prep before it's actually ready. I went 3x this year and it was a bust every time because of traction problems. You know things are screwed up when your car hooks better on the street and with way less wheel hop. :/

But seriously yeah Douglas sounds like a decent alternative option.

Brett we should set a date that would work for us and get a group to go to douglas!

Late August or sometime in September would work better for me..
