| Not sure what time I will be showing up. I am just getting ready to lay the clear here in about 30 minutes or so. I will let it chill in the garage with the heater for the first 30 minutes and then let the sun bake it out. Hopefully be there around that time.

| If I can get my old driveshaft pressed out of my clutch on the bike then the hard part is over. Then all I have to do is swap out my tire for a new one cause there's a quarter sized hole where the cords are showing threw, swap out the stock carb with my adjustable one, adjust a few things to make it ride right, and I'll be rollin the Schwinn tonight!! | |

| Yeah, he was saying they make a tap kit for it that you can actually use without pulling the head. He really didnt seem to confident wanting to use that and I dont blame him. I would just pull the head. | |

| Glad I made it out on the bike just in time to hang out for a few before the storm rolled in. I only made it halfway home and had to stop at a friends place to store it in his shed lol. Friction drive + rain = bad mix | |

i have done a couple of those one my buddys corvette. its not bad at all. A couple years ago my buddy mike l had his mustang and my gto down in denver. well he blew 2 pugs out. $1000 later (to have the dealer ship do it) and 100,000 more miles on the engine and they were still holding strong. we found out later you can buy the kit for $40, we were at everyones mercy becuase i for once didnt bring any tools.

| I've heard it was mainly the 03/04 cobras had problems with spark plugs blowing out on them. | |

from what i have read its a problem in lighting also. just do a quick google search of spark plug blowing out of head on a ford. The sparkplug issue covers ford SOHC mod motors up to late 2003. At that point ford started putting more threads in the head fo the plug to grab onto (8 threads vs. 4 threads). Typically if you keep your plugs tight, and check them regularly they aren't too troublesome.... I have 4 thread heads in my lightning, and I think about it everytime I turn the key.....

| That is crazy. At least they got the problem solved I suppose, but would that not be good enough for a recall? | |

| They've had issues with cylinder heads for a while now. The 05-08 4.6 3v also has problems. The electrode ground shield on the plugs can get caked in carbon - and then they get cemented into the head. Compound that with the fact they used a 2 piece design and you have a recipe for broken spark plugs. They fixed that issue in late 08.
No recall for two reasons. For one, it's not a safety issue. Two, they would lose an ass ton of money on all those cars if they had to replace the heads. Even pulling the heads on those cars would cost them enough in labor to be cost prohibitive.
At least in the case of the 4.6 3v you can be proactive about the situation by pulling the plugs early and replacing them with a one piece unit or alternately coat the electrode ground shield on the stock plugs with a light coating of nickle anti-seize and then re-insert them.
