| So some of you guys pointed me in the direction of local shops that dyno motorcycles. I want to get some baseline numbers before I install some parts and re-tune our bikes over the winter. I couldn't get through to the two local places recommended in the thread, but Beartooth Harley has a dyno so I called them up to see if I could swing by today and do some pulls. The "shop foreman", upon hearing that I wanted to dyno two Ninja's, claimed that "he didn't have the right software" to dyno "that type of bike". WHAT A LOAD OF BS! If your helmetless head is stuck so far up your fat broken down Harley ass to take business from a sportbike rider, at least have the courage to say so!! Someone let me know when they have their annual test-ride day so I can show up and flog the piss out of their POS hogs and break something. I guess the economy has not yet hit them hard enough. Here's to hoping it will soon BTW- I called Dynojet directly to be sure they are full of shit, and they are. | |

| Sorry too hear that RJ. Pretty sure G & C behind the old Movie Gallery in the heights does bikes (not sure if that was one of the 2 mentioned in the thread). Believe his name is Gary and he is the owner. | |

| Call Bad boy cycles on state avenue. Good group of mechanics that know their stuff, the dyno guy's name is Roy and he will help you with doing some pulls, I am sure they would be glad to take a few bucks from you, it never ceases to amaze me how business treat potential customers.
406-248-7203 4188 State Avenue
Good luck and hope this works well for you, their dyno does printoffs etc so you can have numbers.

| no, but what difference would that really make? Anywhere that puts on bike tires should just need the tire and wheel correct? | |

| save your money and tune it yourself. dyno's are just numbers. Real world tuning > dyno tuning | |

| I AM tuning them myself. I just wanted to do some baseline runs so I could re-dyno in the spring and see how much of a difference the mods made.
Anyway, I am meeting up with Rod (RPM) on Saturday to do some pulls. Anyone want to wager a guess as to what my wife's blistering 250cc Ninja will turn? I am guessing around 25hp.

It matters because for a large shop like Harley, it is a liability to put on a carried in tire. In their eyes it could have any of a number of issues, and if they put it on, then they are liable. Many shops are like that. Some won't do it at all, but some will only do it if you carry the rim in and carry it out.

Maybe so, but I told them it was a brand new tire, which it was, with stickers still on it, and they only said no after I told them it was a honda that it was going on.

| Easy enough to take our business elsewhere. Like I said, give it time and the economy will have them wishing they diversified a little. I know I that I personally will be bashing the shit out of them every chance I get. | |
