| Nice. we have a yellow '68 Chevy that I plan on restoring one day for my dad. All it needs is body work(not saying that that isn't a lot of work), but it runs great, just rebuilt the carburator, sounds like a champion. | |

| Very nice, well stay tuned and my adventure may give you the motivation and know how to get her looking pretty again. I love this era body style. Its hard to find any of them that dont need some sort of body work. I have a 72 longbed as well but that thing is a lost cause unfortunatly... On this build though I plan on making sure it wont ever have a chance to rust again...at least not for another 40-50 years. | |

| Looks like a fun project my fellow Todd! I like the keg idea a lot! Good stuff. Any final plans for a custom color once all this work is done? | |

| Not quite sure on that one....the direction it starts to go will end up dictating it overall, but as of now I am thinking of either all black, all blue, or a two tone blue with pearl white. Also like gun metal grey...so I have some thoughts but nothing is definete. We'll see what the character of the truck tells me once we start getting closer. | |

| So this last sunday I went out and tinkered with the ole 67, working out the heater hose mess when BAM the inlet to the heater core broke, so took the heater off of the firewall. Cab is pretty clean behind it but there were a ton of leaves trapped in the vent door. Got the clip loosly on the front and got the fleetside box off the back. Yesterday went out to my 72 GMC and robbed the heater assembly off of it with a few misc. items, and picked up a battery from work. This morning I ordered a bunch of goodies for it and should be in by friday/sat. Hopefully!! I can take it for a maiden voyage on Sunday. Updated pictures to come soon. | |

| Actually I'm super interested. You should make this thread as informative as possible. Not necessarily how-to informative, but just ya know, don't hold anything back because someone might not want to read it. Looks go so far. | |

| Well I recieved the outer floor extensions the other day so between the panels that I have purchased and the sheet of 18 ga cold roll steel I bought. I should be able to get this cab back together with out any cancer. I will get some pictures of the extensions up soon. For anyone that decides they want to rip into a classic (because their is nothing more nice then a sweet restored classic!!) I bought half my panels from Good Mark Industries, and the extensions from Classic Heartbeat. I dont think I will buy through Good Mark in any future endeavors, they are reasonably priced but their customer service is lacking and they dont have alot of the parts in stock. Classic was much more reasonable and their service was great. I got both extensions from Classic for what Good Mark wanted for just one, and Classic sells tri-plus parts which are the caddilac of reproduction metal! As soon as I get motivated enough to head back up to the shop, I will be finish cutting part of the frame thats cancerous so I can finish preping it and then coat it in POR15 and gloss black BLACKCOTE. Should turn out really nice and will stop the frame from ever rusting again. Once cured, the combination of the two will be just like if I had it powder coated. Then need to pull the cab so I can commence the panel replacement. Few more things to come with a fresh year that I will update once they go through. Hope everyone has a safe and jolly new year! | |
