| Thanks buddy!
I think I figured out a name for the STi ------> Ecstasy - an overpowering emotion or exaltation; a state of sudden, intense feeling.
The car that I have wanted ever since I started the Subaru world 6 years ago..

| Sti is no longer forsale. Motor issues.. may be forced to keep the sti. Updates to be had, after further inspections of the car takes place. In a very bad spot.. but things will get better, there is always another path to walk down. Just because the road is closed doesn't mean you can't get there. | |

| How did you come to the conclusion that the timing is correct? Did you reset the belt or did you just rotate the crank until the marks were lined up? | |

| Rotated crank until marks lined up. Started it up again tonight noticed a few things;
1. Makes a clunk clunk clunk sound for 3 seconds upon startup. 2 seconds later noise is very very subtle(almost non existent.) Um..
2. My oil pressure gauge is whack as it is. But it read extreme iregularities at the track when problems arouse. Problem started out 40 psi then sit at 120 and then go to 150psi then drop to 60-80psi (all @ idle.) Normally my inaccurate gauge read 80-90 @ idle 120-150psi full load
Had plenty of oil before racing, but had barley any/none on dip stick. I have to drain the oil here in about 15 min.. hopefully no clunk clunk drops from the oil pan.
Coolant was clean. No burnt oil smells either.. @ this point I think its piston slap. I have to examine spark plugs. Can't sleep so why not work on it? Lol

| so after another couple hrs in the garage, I am still clueless what's wrong with the motor.
1. Spark plugs are all flawless. Look perfect.
2. No metal in oil that I dropped from the oil pan.
3. Driverside bottom cam seal is probably f*d(noticed oil around that area.)
I have to buy oil tomorrow and an oil filter, fill it up and see if noise persists. I think the problem is either a *slightly* spun bearing (is that possible) or my head on the driverside is eating oil. Still doesn't explain some of the noise unless a valve spring is bad... hmmm

| I wonder if your turbo shit and dumped your oil out the exhaust.. whats with the stray wire there? Or even into your intake! | |

| I was thinking turbo as well, it has always made a flutter in prime boost(4k rpm).
I am thinking of removing the intake manifold tonight, and the oil pan.
The turbo wouldn't cause irregularities on my oil pressure gauge would it? Unless it was burning it that fast? Come to think of it, my friends said they have seen a little smoke come out the exhaust, they could never specify the color though. . .

| I'd check the oil pump to see if by any chance it has a tooth broken off, or something to that effect. I am not familiar with what the oil pump is like on a suby. Is it chain driven? If the car was running still I would tell you to fire it up and and pull either the spark or fuel from each cylinder one at a time and see if the noise goes away. That would help you diagnose if it was something like rod knock. There are so many things its hard to say on-line but I am sure you'll get it figured out. Post what you find I'll be curious to hear. | |

| So after watching some youtube videos, I am pretty confident that its just my timing belt tensioner pulley, I am going to replace that before pulling the motor see if that works out. Bad timing belt tensioner makes sense for a few other problems that were happening. So.. that is my update for now! | |

| Pretty sure that is what I told you to do about 2 weeks ago. My other guess was a broken spring. The oil leak I am not so sure about, course that could be a whole different problem. | |

| While having a safety meeting and contemplating the vastness of the universe, I decided to investigate a little further tonight on the car. Mike, Timing on cam vs cams is dead on. But, I rotated the crank and marked all the timing marks on the timing belt, none of the marks on the belt were on with the marks on the cam. Stephen dimock is bringing me a timing belt tensioner tomorrow(today) after we get off work @ 5pm. I will then pray to the great car god that this tensioner fixes my problem. I can't afford to not have my car anymore, because I need another job to pay for more parts, but no vehicle to get to another job. Not even a bicycle.. but that's another fork in the road, it will be back to the fresh status in no time. Good night | |

| As long as the marks on the belt were off by (x) amount of teeth per cam mark (e.g., if it is off by 2 teeth on one then it should be off by 2 on all the others) that is all that matters. It will take a few rotations to make them 100% on. | |

| I pulled the spark plugs, they are clean. Have not done a compression test or leakdown test.
Pulled the intake manifold, and well, nothing is wrong there.. valves are nice and healthy looking. Pulled valve cover off, cams lobes look good as well.
Tomorrow I am putting my intake manifold back on, I will pull the exhaust manifold and look at the exhaust valves, but I thought intake valves got bent before exhaust valves got bent? not saying a valve is bent, but if a spring broke I would presume a valve would get bent? (due to timing being dead on)
Piss. I am on jds screen-name.
