I bought this car last week as a kiteboarding vehicle, but now I have decided I would rather stick the money into the shop and buy some more tools. It is a 1996 Legacy GT 2.5L Automatic. The only problem I can see with the car is that the trunk does not open and hail damage from the storm last year. All trunk space is fully accessible through the cab as the seats fold down. The car itself runs fantastic which is really making the decision to sell it even harder. Had a 1992 Legacy a few years back and I dont even know how many times I have regretted selling it, but I already have 2 vehicles and this one would probably just sit sidelined while I drive the 2008. I have done a bunch of work on it the last week and she is pretty much ready for a new owner.
New Transmission Fluid
New Front Differential Fluid
Changed Engine Oil
New Passenger Front Axle
Removed the Seats and Supercleaned [Interior is Immaculate]
Fixed Rear Vent Hoses
Fixed Rear Fold Down Seats
Fixed Tail Lights
New Battery Tiedown
New Oil Fill Cap
Sanded and Polished Headlights
Had new Timing Belt at 120,000 along with Spark Plugs and Wires [Car has 140,000]. Guessing that was also when the brakes were put on as they are pretty much brand new.
There are also a few smaller things I did, but they are cleaning related. Car has almost new brakes, tires, and the interior and amazing. The best part of it all is that she runs perfect. Engine sounds great and shifts are crisp and smooth. Alignment is also perfect, drives straight and does not pull. Looking for $1600 to take her home. This would be a great car for a High Schooler or just a Daily Driver during the Winter months as it is All Wheel Drive.
