| Ok, I'm hungry to go faster yet. I've given myself 3 options of my next mods. Here they are:
1. Racing Seats - BENEFIT: 80lb weight reduction (approx -1/10th per 100lbs in 1/4 mile ET)- COST: $400 2. Overdrive Crank Pulley - BENEFIT: Would gain 2-3psi @ approx 20rwhp/psi - COST: $350 3. Drag Radials - BENEFIT: Gets all the power to the ground and less wheel spin - COST: $500
I can pretty much do any 2 of the 3 listed items. What do you guys thing and why?

| I think I answered my own question. I didn't even think about the fact that I could take out my Passenger seat at the track and save almost the same amount of weight without spending any money. So i'm thinking I'm gonna go with Drag Radials and the overdrive pulley. | |

| did ya ever think of a stall converter? That should definitely help off the line power! | |

Yeah I have but that requires a lot more work than a pulley and tires...lol

| I'm waiting on an email back from a guy that has an overdrive pulley. He basically is asking half of new on the price and it's pretty much new. I'm hoping I hear from him soon. | |

| i wouldnt up the boost. that lq4 is already a ticking timebomb. you could add about 3psi if you swapped your rod bolts. id put domr drag radials on it, so it wont be a tire fryer anymore. | |

| The more I read the more I think these motors will handle more. I'd be more worried if I beat up on it all the time. I'm gonna get some drag radials when I can get more money. I'm not really that worried about traction until I go to the track. | |

| I think the seats and the drag radials myself. You are going to have plenty of power, now lighten the car up and get it to the ground. | |

| It might not be an issue on GTO's but i would be wary of using an over driven crank pulley if your blower uses the same belt as your accessories. Believe it or not you can pretty easily over spin the accessories. I know lots of people do it, but I wouldn't want to risk it if its my daily driver. I guess It depends on how big of a crank pulley you are going to use. Of course you could buy an over drive crank pulley and under drive accessory pulleys, but thats a lot of money! I would do the seats and DR's. What size blower pulley are you running? | |

My blower pulley is a 2.8", and the overdrive pulley is 10% over. So it wouldn't be a big push on my accessories. I'm still looking into drag radials, they are just really expensive.

| Well I ended up buying the Overdrive crank pulley. I could pass up the deal for $350. That's almost half of new. Gonna have to put it on and retune. I'm thinking that will be the last of my motor mods for the year. Then next year either work on a stroker motor or a forged 370 and more boost. | |

GM parts are only cheap for old SBC and BBC motors. New Gen stuff is not cheap at all. Good Long Tube headers are 1200, new cams are 400, heads are anywhere from 1k to 3k.

Well as of right now, the overdrive pulley is on its way. I don't know how much I'm gonna run at the track. I can't decide if I want drag radials or not.

| You are going to need some radials if you want traction. I guess you could do an AWD conversion. | |

If I wasn't having my hood painted I'd be getting drag radials. I'm gonna have to save for a few months before I can get them now. That's alright though because I can just enjoy some good car shows until then.

They gave out 50 plaques for sponsors favorites and 1 overall winner out of over 300 cars. I got a plaque.

| I would get a set of DOT's! Drag radials are better than stock for a car making 300hp. For your setup you will need an ET street or something like that. Hey, and going fast is way more important than looking good! To an extent! | |
