| I was thinking about calling Vallie and scheduling the car for a little "work". Great time Saturday! So anyway, I was thinking about the hp on your car. I'm wondering if you're not around 650rwhp? ...or close to it. My car is set up for 650bhp, 572rwhp. I'm at 3200lbs or so. I can't remember what you said your car weighs. I would think I've got you in the Grip department with Nitto Invo 345's on the rear. HP wins races, obviously, but I wonder if turning off the traction control and all the other GM computer nannies would help me? Checking with STS this morning, they don't recommend boost over 10psi on a stock LS2. In fact, they seemed to be wanting me to just leave it at 7psi. Thoughts? | |

| http://www.ststurbo.com/c6_corvette_i might be missing something, but it looks like you might have around 540ish rwhp on a good day. there is about 12% hp to drive train loss so ur setting about 615-620 fly wheel hp. (not calling you out or trying to be a dick) talk to tim about your tune, from the looks of it i would run a speed density and ditch the maf. the mafs for those ls2 s are only good to about 500 fly wheel hp. | |

I see all kinds of numbers. I base my claim on the following info but will never know for sure until I toss it on the dyno myself: Rick Squires Car bone stock w/ bolt on STS. Here is more STS propaganda. Hard to believe marketing materials. Looking at those two curves posted in the C6 section would indicate your numbers are correct...

| Hey, looking at those curves at the STS site, looks like 10psi is the way to go. I just don't want to blow this sucker. | |

| i belive if the tune is spot on you wnt have to worry with 10 psi. look at nate saylor, he ran 10 psi with a maggie no problems. (and u have cooler iat temps). | |

True... I got a call in to Squires himself. See what he thinks. I may have to stop by and visit Tim also.

| Never worked with a Vette but depending on the ECU setup you should also be able to run dual MAF's with the use of an averaging circuit. Simpler to setup than speed density but will allow less restriction and tuning for more airflow.
You can't really say 10 psi would be safe or not because 10 psi from a small turbo you'd probably be fine, but 10 psi from a bigger turbo will be flowing a lot more CFM's and inturn working the internals harder. Although I do agree the lower IAT's will help there are too many variables for anyone on here to say a certain psi is "safe" Best way would be to dyno tune it and get every ounce of power out of it the way it sits. Then start collecting parts for the bottom end build so you can run more boost since we all know you'll always want more power!

| my car with a full tank and driver weighed 3350 with the glide, but i put a turbo400 init and i know it weighs more, not to mention i had chad in it too... so i would be fair i beleive to say it was prolly closer to around 3500 rollin. dunno as far as power, but i kinda think around 600ish to the tires.maybe? | |

| Well, I'll probably do nothing. The car runs like it's stock. Other than swapping out that one pump, it's been trouble free. Not sure i wanna mess with it. | |

| I would be very happy having a car that fast. For as much money as I have in mine my car should be running 10s if not 9s. Really sad actually. | |

Dude, I love your car. I think it's freakin' sweet!! You've thought of everything on that car. it's a cone racer and could probably best most anyone.

| gotta full forged bottom end and steel ring headgaskets., engine should be able to run 30 if im careful with the timing allthough i would have to run race gas in it for sure. would have to run race gas at 20 psi too, thats why im running 15 for now | |

Hehe, and if I did decide to do more, I'd be stupid enough to race more often. The last thing I need is to be on the front page of the Gazette with the vette wrapped around a phone pole or even worse, a 90 year old elementary crossing walk guard.

| thats just it though, i do not advocate racing in crowded, or busy places. i didn't think you would follow me all the way out to the special spot, so i took a chance on king. beleive me, i have only had 1 ticket in the last 10 years because i am not a dumb 16 year old speedin my ass off on grand avenue at rush hour. playing on the streets can be safe as it can be, but taking the time to pick out rendevous points and times is usually the best cenario second to meeting at the dragstrip, which we might not have this summer anyways, so i do it when i can, where i can, as safely as i can. | |

It worked. I was just nervous is all. I need to learn the exact location of the "special spot". I'd like to know which is the better way to launch my car... Nannies "on" or "off".

As you already know but some of the new comers may not so I figure I'll post it that 18psi is generally the most you wanna run on pump gas. I ran 20 on pump for a while, now I run 91 with a few gallons of 110 and 26psi. Now that I can get Torco race gas cheap I may have to do a 32-34 psi tune. Sounds like your car is plenty fast as is so I'd enjoy it and get the hang of the power you already have. Plus with the 345's you should be able to enjoy it all around street, strip and in the corners.

| So who tuned the car? Is it an STS generic tune?
When I was working on my buds Vette the cartek tune was about 10.5 to 1 AFR at WOT. This was an N.A. tune. They basically refused to lean it out for him. I'm sure for liability reasons. We gained quite a bit when we tuned it ourselves.
