first race of the year!!! may 1st at 900 am

like the title says. first race this saturday gates open at 9 am,
the track will be prepped, the pay outs are good and we should go
have as much fun as we can.

who's with me?

i talked to gillis about 20 minutes ago and he said bring it on. track WILL be prepped for some 200 mph passes(not by me of course) but
non the less... i dont really think thatit will stay open for long, so im hoping we can get a large group of maec members to go up for the first race.

I'll be at the Cars 4 Kidz car show that day. The Venge is not ready for a run down the strip yet......

Racing doesnt start till noon anyways. But the weather looks shitty for sat. I was gonna go to the show for a little while, weather permitting.

ill prolly go to the show till 12 then head up to the track and maybe make a pass or not i gotta get a helmet sometime this week.

Unless they changed the rules, you don't need a helmet until you're in the 13's.

track rules are everyone has to have a helmet no matter the speed

Weather gods permitting, I'm planning on being there. If the temps are in the 50s, then hoping for some quick passes.

yeah i would not want to make a pass without a helmet! no matter how slow, any crash is dangerous

see a few nasty wrecks out there . think of brittany dobson for one . and that cuda on that friday nite a couple years ago . rolled it on top of the wall for quite aways . and 2 diff motrcycle wrecks
i wouldnt ever go down that track without one . i like my head

The motorcycle wrecks were cause of stupidity......but anything can happen at any given minute. I dunno if i wanna go out there in shitty weather yet. I dont get traction half the time when its nice and warm, i know the track prep will be shitty.

Ima head to the show and see if I can make it out to make a pass our two, just gotta find money for a dam helmet

i hear ya bud. me and josh cole were sittin a tthe line when a certian wreck happened . sumone was playin the just put a wheel on him game . caused a very nasty wreck

I'm glad to see they are taking safety seriously. I don't think I've ever ran without a helmet. I just know the rules back in OK were that you only needed one when in the 13's . I've never been on the track in anything slower than that besides my only truck when I ran it N/A, but even then I wore a helmet because I had nitrous and would run it about every other run.

as far as the track prep goes, i talked to gillis yesterday and he says the track will be ready.

If I still had some slicks I would come out just for fun. I'm sure my huge wing would give the announcer something to comment and laugh at! I'd love to see how I could do with my current power but I can't justify buying slicks now that my car is way to far away from being setup to launch. Not to mention that one of the leaders of China is coming to visit and hang out for the weekend, and that's probably not something I could have ever imagines saying ha ha.

Somehow My dad met one of the leaders of China when we were over there a while ago and he wanted to see Montana. Crazy he wants to stay at my parents house and just hang out. Maybe I'll get him out to the track and show him a good time.

Wow, that is one of the craziest things I've heard in recent memory. Pretty cool to have someone that high up in a major nation coming to visit you and "hang out". Wonder if he has ever seen drag racing before, or if they even have drag racing in China.

No idea, apparently him and my dad have spent time together in China. My dad's business partner is the son of the former King of Taipei and that is how my dad met him. We didn't know about his partner for years until we ate with him at a Chinese restaurant here in Billings and the lady working recognized him and bowed to him. Pretty crazy for sure. Because of the friends we have made over in China I have met a lot of high up political leaders, Even had one grab my butt! Ha ha good ol Mr. Lui. He was the drunkest guy I've ever met, he just kept saying cheers and drinking all dinner. Should be interesting.

yes, they do have dragracing in china...

Wish I could make the races, but my car is not quite ready yet. Need alot of high end tuning before I drop the hammer. Low end is complete.

I'll be there. If the weather permits. Looking shitty for Saturday. Which pretty much SUCKS. :/

if i can make it up i will im not sure cause im grounded so it will probably be a no but ill definetly be up next weekend.

The track really needs to be about twice its size and it would be great for tuning. I just need to get a good base which does not knock at the high end and fine tune it from there, which could be done at the track using the math function keys.

The main thing is I want to avoid a rebuild this year and that is why I am being so precautious.

safe tune it pigs ass rich and start taking fuel away from it alittle at a time until it's right.

It is a little more complicated than that, but that is pretty much the process. I run it about 11:1 and see how it works then move it accordingly.

Hope so wish I was ready to roll on down but got about 3-4 weeks of work left on the car. If you guys make you need to post some video of your runs.
