BOV/wastegate problem

so I have boosted b18 and when I let off the throttle it doesnt make the usual bov sound. I think it is not opening and it sounds like I'm getting wastegate shutter. I have a brand new wastegate which only about 2 or 3 months old. anybody have any ideas? and if it is the bov, what is a good fairly priced bov (less than $100) that I could get?

I have a blitz I will sell you, for 70. That "shutter" sounds like compresion surge and I would avoid big boost untill you resolve the issue.

check the hose running to the BOV for leaks. BOV's are pretty simple mechanisms. they are a diaphram that under boost are held shut until they see vacuum and then open up. So my gut tells me there are two ways it could fail. Diaphram stuck shut or line crack so it's not seeing vacuum.

I assume you have a boost gauge that is showing boost and this really isn't a turbo issue.

The only good BOV I can imagine you will find for under $100 is a good used one. Blitz, HKS, Tial, and Greddy are all typically good, just avoid knock-off's that leak.

I'm thinking the bov is just seized cause I have tried adjusting it softer and harder and it still has the same result. f20bmt, I think I might take that blitz bov off your hands
