Unfortunately that is probably something you will run into most places you go to have work done. I worked in a machine shop for several years doing tear downs and some machine work and guys that came in nearly always treated me like a dumb girl.
I would turbo your car, turbos are more efficient than superchargers however you would need to check into seeing how much boost the bottom end can take. Top Tech guys are really nice and will haggle with the prices. Over on central next to the bank and chuckee cheese. They did an entire brake job and inspection for $150 all four wheels. They qouted me same for shocks and struts and springs all four wheels. He'll hook you up if you want black out 5% window tint. I was having some caliper issues and he took a look at it for free. Factory defect from Honda. Place to recommend if you don't have the tools or place to work on your car.....like me. He even called up the company personally that I bought the rotors and brake pads from to ask some specific questions not specified on the packaging...about the rotors and pads. Doesn't really deal too much with performance parts or cars though. But nice place and good service.

http://www.maecforum.com/open-discussion-f16/honda-acura-people-t830-100.htmpost I made about my CRACKED Ebay rotors. Be very careful. I have lifetime warranty for them if cracked but I found out how unsafe they are. $160 for 4 drill/slotted rotors and ceramic pads. CHEAP but Not so safe. I'd stick with name brand on ebay if you are getting performance enhancing parts. even the bulbs you buy on ebay can melt your connector wires/rods. You'll have to spend few $K if you want to make your car good and reliable still. I had them only 3 weeks.
