AHHHH NEED HONDA TURBO ENGINE INFO PLEASE!!!!!!! ANYTHING WILL HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Hey I am Zane if anyone here does not know I am currently driving a 91' Honda Civic SI and I am building a turbo engine for it out of my spare DOHC ZC and I just wanted advice and Help from anyone who has had a decent amout of experience so that I do not BLOW IT UP!!!! I just want a good 10psi DD is all. I dont want fast just QUICK... THanks hope to here with some help soon!!!!

Personally my opinion would be to put an LS in it. Wouldn't cost much more, and would be a much better platform to build from and boost...

Well I already got the DOHC ZC and the clutch and tranny and i just started rebuilding the engine so i am kinda stuck with it cuz i wont get out what i got into this project so i am sticking with it......

You could just buy my car! it has b18 ls with a turbo. only problem is i threw a rod so you would have to pull it apart and put a new rod in.

Honestly I would recomend going N/A on the zc! I mean if your stuck with it then that would be your best route if your wanting reliabilty! The zc just doesnt have the aftermarket support that any motor that is OBD1 would have especially for tuning.. But that is just my 2 cents maybe someone else has had better luck with turboing a zc then I ever did!! And depending on what tranny axles and stuff you have maybe just sell the zc and buy a 1.6 sohc..you can build them to be strong and you will have the ability to go OBD1 with it so going boost is alot easier tuning wise..

Like I said this is just my opinions. I am sure someone else will have a different one and maybe they will know a way to do the zc and keep it realible!!

Convert it to obd1 like mine I have a harness and dizzy like I said before zane u have everything to do it maybe pick up a supercharger for it like I plan to do with mine

i was under the idea that zcs could not be converted to obd1 because of their cam angle sensor?

They make a OBD 1 zc!!! As for being able to convert an OBD0 to an OBD1 that I do not know either as I never looked into it and probably never will...lol

darn you learn something new everyday! but you said it best, the only reason i would ever buy a zc is for my rt4wd

Ya dennis at MINI MOTORS says he can do the obd1 conversion and yes i am turboin it i got some other research behind me off of the other honda forums this guy who specializes in zcs says that they are one of the best engines to turbo stock and run 15 psi if need be buy mine will only be like on 10 psi lol

well personally i would have picked a different engine to boost. ZC's are great little motor but stock i have seen alot of them take out rod bearings. just b swap it and add a little boost.

ya well i already have the dohc zc so i am just sticking with it i am not putting anymore money in buying engines than i have to unless someone has a b they wana trade other than that ill just do my turbo zc lol

My best advice would be to finish up your rebuild, be sure to use a good metal head gasket (believe the OEM honda unit is metal but not super familiar with the zc so i wouldn't bet on that one)

Get your self some type of EMS, don't cheap out on a piggy back or rising rate FPR! (if you go OBD1 hondata, or you may look into using a new Mega squirt would be the cheapest/best options in my opinion)

The engine will take boost fine so long as you are actually able to tune it, if you want a reliable car this is VERY VERY important.

injectors (you could use used DSM 440cc or EVO 550cc to keep the price down, would recommend getting used inj cleaned though)
new fuel filter
intank walbro wired up on a relay****
one step colder copper core spark plugs
Some type of vent to atmosphere catch can ****DO NOT PRESSURIZE THE CRANK CASE****
