2011 'Dragon' Overhaul

Trying to get my car prepped before the shop is up, so the process has begun. Last night Drew came out and did the old 'GAS DOOR DELETE'. Been wanting to weld that damn thing closed since the fuel cell was installed. Depending on weather this week I may try and get her all sanded down.

nice work fella. shaving stuff is fun. in autobody class we got to to shave some door handles. the dragon is going to be nice and smooth. if you didnt shave the gas door you could have put your main battery kill switch in there.

Was not me welding, are you kidding!? Drew was the one who did the work, which by the way was amazing.

Forgot to mention I got the hood all sanded yesterday and I will hopefully get the trunk done tomorrow weather permitting. Might even get the bumper done, who knows!

Yep, getting the car prepped and ready for paint so as soon as the shop is up I will be ready to shoot. Need to paint quite a few cars once the shop is up, so I figure I will get mine out of the way right away so I can start on everyone elses.

This post has been buried for quite awhile. I am glad I was able to resurrect it. Here is what happened last night... Things turned out perfect! Its going to be hard to get back out there today, but I guess we dont have a choice do we?

Yeah, I am very much enjoying the booth, minus the fact my financial backer is freaking out about paint on the floor.

Spent another 8 hours out there today and I got the hood scoop and sunroof done along with half of the wet sanding on the hood. Tomorrow is the day I like the most out of the whole process, polishing! It is nice seeing the fruits of your labor.

OMG, yesterday was the longest day ever! We were out sanding and priming until 3am and I am completely exhausted.

Trunk, rear bumper, front bumper, and rear valance are primed. Noticed quite a few holes in the front bumper that need some bondo, so that will be what gets my attention this morning. Thought we filled them all in, but you coutd not see them when there was paint.

All that is left now is the side skirts, rear wing, and the chassis. Hope to be done before the end of the year.

Hoping to have the Dragon done by next weekend. All I have to do is the shell after clearing all my stuff tonight.

Cant wait to get this done! So excited to drive!

How long before you repaint it again after it's finished?

Getting ready to head out the door to start on the Dragon. Hoping to finish up this weekend. Dying to get out and drive!

Quarters and roof are ready to shoot. Took all weekend to get things the way I wanted them (thanks Drew, AGAIN). I dont know where I would be right now if it werent for Drew helping with all the sanding. You are a great friend.

Anyway, I would be out spraying paint right now, but the booth is about 90* and I dont have any fast reducer. Might be able to head out there about 8pm or so and get it done. Luckily I actually slept this weekend, so I should have no problems with getting none tonight.

The DRAGON is going to be debuted at Track Day, HOW EXCITING!!
