nice ride. looks like fun. but why a auto? just wondering thats like buying a mustang with a v6

because I dont ever want to give the excuse that i missed a shift so i lost a race. also the MT82 manual transmissions are chinese crap that are falling apart and hard to shift. the automatics have all of the fastest modified runs, they are really good transmissions, also made in america The only kind of racing I do is in a straight line, which is where an auto is best. I don't think i'd ever be able to out-shift these new transmissions.

drove my dads 2011 mustang gt/cs 5.0...his 6 speed shifted very nice...not to mention he had the 1000 dollar ford racing package (mufflers, tune, and cai) which also gets rid of the skip shift...either way not a bad car man!

I already installed a Steeda CAI and tune. Next I want to do 4.10 gears then o/r mid-pipe and axlebacks. Might do a boss intake manifold after that.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys. I'll plan on coming down to billings for drag racing on June 11th and 12th if the track hasn't floated away by then, and if the weather is nice. If it's cool enough I'm hoping to hit some high 12s. between the Steeda CAI+Tune+M&H drag radials I think it's possible, at sea level someone got 11.8@118mph w/o the intake. email tune, others are getting 11.9, 12.0, 12.1 tune+drag radials only not too many people are buying intake system for the 2011+ they dont believe it's worth the whp gain but ive seen anywhere from 10-24whp gained going from tune only...

It's all in the combination. Both parts and tune. I think you can do high 12's at maybe 105-107.

So with the tune can you change anything? Mainly WOT AFR?

The best thing I ever bought for my 03 cobra was a MAafter burner EFPC. Went 12.0 with factory tune.

The tuner can let you change all sorts of things, even the cam timing, spark, fuel, throttle position. I can datalog, but the tables are vast, I wouldn't be able to figure it out. I'm just going to get a new e-mail tune from someone good online.

I'm kind of blind to the new tuning stuff. When I had my cobra it took the SCT pro racer package $800+ to be able to really tune anything worth while. Unfortunately since 2007 I've taken a step backwards to the EEC IV stuff.

What kind of tuner are you running?

I convinced one of my good friends he needs to buy a new mustang. He was looking at the used silver 2011 Bison had but they wanted retarded money for it. I need to get updated with all the newer tuning stuff. He mods FAST.

I'm using an SCT SF3 tuner, much better than my old sct xcal2 tuner. you can get them for $380ish loaded with tunes from a tuner, which is usually just a modified SCT tune.

They are asking quite a bit for used 2011s, sure they are practically new still but the 2012s actually have a few neat things added to them, built in garage door opener and selectable power steering options (normal, sport, comfort)
