yeah but im sure they wouldnt want anybody runing on it. theres a house kinda close to it so im sure they keep an eye on it pretty close.

well very excited to see a date has been posted for at least 2 track days, ahha these track days are going to kill the last of my tires but its worth it =D

We are NOT ALLOWED to use the drag strip. If anyone is seen over there you will be gone for the day and not allowed to come back in the future. The drag strip is not part of the OPI facility, it is just on the same property.

The Venge wasn't ready the first go around last year so I just got a TON of video and rode with few people (and JD lemme take the Spec-V around a couple times )

It is kind of one of those events that if you miss it, you will never forgive yourself. I am super excited this year as the track is not going to be freshly chipsealed and I have tons of cameras and video cameras. Going to be alot of photography.

So Mike... hows the roster looking so far for Lewistown?

Ride-alongs would be a great idea. Also, does anyone have some good camera mounts for cars? I've got a couple, but I'm not sure I trust those suction cups with all those high speeds and hard turns.

newspeed, i mean sammitch, i mean sam(ghost) has a really good one that has seen 1.4? 60 foot times at acton and never fell off the window, he probably would turn you on to where he got it, or let you borrow it

You can ride with me if you want.... just ask.

But you'll have to bring three things.....
#1 superglue for you're suction cups
#2 a diaper
#3 a piece of duct tape to cover up you're smile.... or screaming.... neither are allowed. lol

Mikes got a suction cup one that he uses for his HD camera. If it'll stay on the Red Dragon I think you'll be alright,

Yeah, I have a sticky pod and I have never had an issue with it. I actually had it mounted to my hood when I did the black otter hill climb back in 05 and it lasted all day. It works really well. I always bring it.

Nice work Mike, this is exactly what we need to keep people excited about motorsports in Billings. I didn't make it out last year, but I won't miss this one for sure.

I know I am late to this discussion but what is the game plan for this years event? It sounds like last year was pretty much a laid back open track day, is that the plan for this year? Will there be any timed events (I can bring a stop watch)? Just curious what everyone is thinking.... tandem drift sessions?? (I am all excited inside just thinking about this!!!!!)

We have an old SCCA timing light that we are going to try out. Be fun to see lap times.

That would be super cool, but I can't really see it happening at the track. There is really only one spot that is big enough to accomodate drifting, and even there it is still pretty small. If we could figure something out though that would be pretty fun!

I am more than willing to set up anything people want. Drifting would be a blast, but like Montoya said, there really isnt alot of room to play. We will figure something out.

who said anything about having enough room on the black top. I plan on trying my best to stay on the black top around all the corners, but there is a reason I will be rocking steel wheels.... this is "practice" and learning. I have never said I was good at this!! I can just see the smoke and dirt flying now!

Any chance at getting together a pool of extra helemets for rent or loan? I know I typically always share a helmet with a few people at SCCA but hopefully at Lewistown we will all be out on the track at the same time.

Just an idea to see if we couldn't round up some extra's.

For those of you who have been before, how avaialbe is fuel? Specifically 91 octane. I am considering bringing an extra fuel tank and pump in my truck for those of us that require 91 or higher.

You can get 91 in Lewistown. I have never used more than a tank of fuel in a full day. The most miles I put on normally are around 60-70. A full tank should do you well.

I have 3 helmets total, but most of the time 2 are being used.

I have a spare helmet I'll bring.

Does anyone have a spare trailer laying around I can haul my car with? lol

I will have a trailer sitting around after my car is pulled off it.

I'd like to trailer the car up to lewistown..... being as -3degrees camber and R888 tires I'm thinking on the highway will wear the inside thread on that long of a trip. I'd rather wear them out racing not just driving to the race. lol

I think uhaul might be sold out that day... I know there are several of us that have that same idea. That will be funny when we empty out all the billings locations.

The Lewistown portion will be about 7-8" long. The 09 will be the retro for last year and the squared will be for those that attended both meets last year. I will have the years and 2s seperate so they can be added later. Not sure how many of these I am going to make, so if you want one for sure I will mark it next to your name in the attendance list. Price is unknown as of now, but wont be much.

Just got done getting the decals finalized with Solo Graphics. They will be done on Wednesday. I had 30 printed, so if you want one let me know ASAP. Pricing will be 5 bucks, as they were slightly more expensive than I thought and again the retro 09 will be free for those of you who attended last year.

I might know of a borrowable trailer. Do you have a vehicle to pull it with? If not, I'll rig up a tow hitch for my 5 series.

Long time no talk guys.

So I have talked to the guys up here and some/most of us will be heading down for the Sept. 11 date. We would love to make the May date too but we will be heading to Calgary just before for Round 1 of DMCC and then we have our 'Drift Weekend/Camp' the weekend after so three big events in three weeks is probably a bit too much, especially after thrashing our cars the weekend before. We may need a couple of weeks to get them back to normal again.

So I would think anywhere between 5 and 10 cars and some other guys tagging along for the ride. The number of cars completely depends on which ones are still running/functioning that late in the season. We are even going to try and get a local guy with a 700hp R32 GT-R to head down with us.

But otherwise, looking at the size of the large skid pad, it would be easy to work out a good size drift course utilizing part of the road course as the starting section for accelerating. It is actually larger and probably nicer than anything we have up here for drifting.

What time will the track open/close? People staying over in Lewistown for the night before/after? Can you recommend a decent hotel in Lewistown?

I usually show up at the track around 5am and start the set up process so we can be ready to go with the sun breaking the mountains. Meets usually end around 4 or 5, it just depends on how the day goes.

Hey Mike, I wondering if I have to pay the full price if I am only on the track half the time? Is there any fee or surcharge for doing most of the driving trying to get back on the track? HA just kidding count me in!!! I will get you some cash $$$$$$ Hope all is well!!!
