Lewistown [May 29th] 2010

I'm curious? if someone was going to come and watch....but arrive later in the day, are they going to be able to come park in the pits while people are on the track?

In order to get to the pits from the entry road you have to go backwards on the track. I remember we had someone show up late last year but luckily everyone saw them and warned the drivers. I wouldn't think it would be a big problem as long as they are EXTREMETLY careful and do NOT try and drive on the track to the pits. Also they should call and let everyone know ahead of time so everyone can be forewarned. You should be able to stick to the outside on the gravel until the pit area if I remember correctly but I'm gonna let Mike make that call.

how do you guys live without sleep! If I left for this event at 3am I would be napping the whole afternoon. I have a one year old so my sleep is limited and it kills me! I will gladly pay the $80 for my own hotel room if it means I get to sleep more!

The only reason to ever get up that early is for hunting... and the only reason that is justified is because you can sleep in the afternoon while the animals bed down!

Its not to bad getting little sleep. when you do it everyday for 3 years you get use to it. i wake up at 5 am and get to bed around 11pm mon-fri. so i do just fine on little sleep

I have been getting no sleep for about 8 years, so my body is way used to it. Believe it or not I run best on about 4 hours.

As far as spectators go, they can come in on the drag racing side, which is much safer as we are not on that side of the property, but if they come in the way we will staying off on the shoulder of the track is not an issue. I will go over all of this at the drivers meeting so you can call you family/friends and let them know how it will work.

I cannot believe we are 57.50 hrs away from departure!!! I am going nutz!!!

I'm getting pretty excited. Took the car a few laps around the black and had some overheating issues. Currently doing some research to try to remedy this. But, as of right now, no leaks.....(fingers crossed)

If all my parts show up tomorrow or fri and I can get them on then I will be meeting you guys at 4am to see how the si does!!!!!

Im bring some chairs for the people that are coming with me (all we got) and the gazebo i was gunna get wont work. so yeah.

Just dropped $100 in oil in my car...Royal Purple in motor and tranny and did my 3 times over to make sure i'm good to go...Can't wait, rain or no rain...Juat too bad I can't drift around like you AWD and RWD cars if it is rainy...see ya'll there...

BTW...I'm thinkin of bringing a rain coat...didnt know if that crossed anyone's mind...

Found these canopy chairs at Ace that match the car, gonna get one of those. RJ's looked pretty sweet last year

We had one big canopy last year, I don't remember who brought it. It would be nice to have at least two to hide from the sun/rain under!

Aslo I'm right there with ya JD. Got $60 of Royal Purple oil and K&N Filter, and $40 in Amsoil Syncromesh tranny fluid. Not that I've got new axles and a new oil return line, I've got no leaks......... for now......

Also got my LM1 mounted nicely in the glove box and the radio fixed, I'm all frickin set!!!

So I have spent the last several months buttoning up ever last thing on my swap and the last few days have just been the little tweaks to make sure the 240 was all dialed in for lewistown!

Welll.... wouldn't you know it, today of all days I would decide to blow my turbo to little pieces! I guess it will be no 240 this year at lewistown. I will most likely just drive my dad's yellow mr2 so I can get out there and enjoy the day (plus I will look like Corky Ramano!). I love cars and have always wanted to hit up lewistwon, so I guess I will accomplish one goal but it really sucks to know it won't be in the 240.

If it had stock suspension i would consider it..But previous owner put junk coilovers on it with stock struts which equals blown stock struts..I will never understand why people do that!!! oh well ups says my PIC selects will be here tomorrow so should be able to get them on..(fingers crossed) Really looking forward to being able to try these out this weekend..For what I had to pay for them and everything I read about them I should be loving it..

3rd time here, havnt missed one yet lol =D im excited and sounds like we mayhave at least 2 canopys thats good so far =D im hoping for the best, I checked my Brake pads and all my fluids. Fixed my Windshield Wipers now. powerwashed the motor will have to power wash the CAI inside since ihave to take it off everytime it rains and depending how wet it is ill just keep my Short ram (worse then stock, but the CAI is heavenly)

That sucks so much man...I'm feeling for ya...I still hopin I'm not the only Nissan there AGAIN, but soon enough...can't wait to see it out and about again.

HEy I can get a hold of a GT28R for $500.00 and send it down, but I don't know if you can get it on in time. I also have the oil lines and restricter for the oil lines or you could just ROCK IT and be Corky!!!! IF you let me know before noon I could probably send it down with Alicia's Mom and you could meet her in Columbus. I will give you a call here in a bit.

Everyone bring their cameras!!! A few people last years claimed they were going to make a Lewistown video with all the footage but I've yet to see any such product **cough, stephen, cough**

I actually want some pics/vids of me going around the track this year to share w/ my other forums and to email to my family. Last year I only had like 4 pictures Tom took of me going around the 90* corner

And the GF and I have a photo planned that we would like taken of us as well!

A couple guys from 406 Customs aren't driving, so they'll have nothing to do but shoot pics and video. And I've already got a couple ideas on how to cut it together.

Oh don't worry about Steve not having his HD vid and camera etc. We are all about getting footage to use for promoting the MT car enthusiasts community!!

Sorry to hear about your turbo Jake, that is a huge bummer. Those are kind of the shoes I was in last year as I did a complete motor rebuild 2 days prior to the first Lewistown meet.

So.......Is anyone going to clean their car before we go?

I'll probably wash my sense I haven't driven it sense the last time I was at lewistown. Hell I have even driven it. Sense the last lewistown day.

it will just get dirty again for me. got the Road Construction from Great Falls to lewistown so yeah. no luck for me

Gotta go on a gravel road anyway but I'm going to at least spray it off some.

cars are getting loaded and all that is left for me to do is swap a new battery into the yellow mr2 of doom tomorrow and TS should be ready to rock! I think I better make myself a glam band mix just so I can rock out with the top down on the Mr. 2.

who needs a boosted car.... N/A is way cooler! This will be my first ever event in a rear engine car, I am actually excited to see how it feels, should be sick for some inertia drifts around the sweepers (sorry Dad about the tires!! j/k)

Once you get used to it it's the best thing since sex. you'll have to ride in the Dallara and compare them. But sadly... Unless you're Dad has soe insane suspension work.... I don't know that there will be much comparison other than chassis layout and the fact that the Mr.2 is probably still making more power then my pathetic 1500cc

I hope I can wrap up the last little bit up on my car tomorrow night by a decent time or else I might not be showing up in Lewistown till like 8am. I'm going to try my best Mike to be up there to help out with track setup but we'll just have to see how this goes... and the wife will be coming up with me so the whole sleep thing is going to be important or something for some reason. ppfftt... sleep. really dear you don't need that much sleep..... but she just won't listen. lol

I'm not! I finally got the Venge ready to be beaten on so I can push it to its limits tomorrow but NNNOOOOO! Now the track has to be wet. Hurray for all you AWD guy, FAIL for us FWD guys!!!

Plus its gonna be like a high of only 50 so it's gonna be cold and yucky which isn't ideal for standing around and chit chatting. Oh well, I'm going to enjoy myself to the max anyway!
